They continued this pattern until Hirschfeld was cut off by the prison phone lines.
Following his release, Hirschfeld called in again to the Stern show with Gottfried again appearing as a guest, this time to discuss his tips for avoiding divorce and plans for the World Trade Center. While explaining his views on divorce, he told a joke about a 10-year-old boy and his mother that he wrote in prison. Again, Stern and Gottfried requested that he repeat the joke several times in a row, again blaming fictitious technical problems.
