The Offspring‘s recently wrapped “Let the Bad Times Roll” tour featured support from Sum 41 and Simple Plan — one of the strongest pop-punk tour packages in recent memory.
The trek ended earlier this month, but during the second to last show on September 2nd at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York, members of all three bands shared the stage for a surging run through of The Offspring’s ska-tinged number “Why Don’t You Get a Job?”
The epic moment occurred toward the end of the main portion of The Offspring’s headlining set. For the first time on the tour, the band was joined onstage by tourmates Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 and Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan.
The two form a veritable punk-rock triumvirate with The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland, as their voices stack in joyous harmony during the song’s chorus refrain. The pro-shot footage...

John Stamos and a chimpanzee enjoy a wild night at the strip club in the new video for the Offspring’s “We Never Have Sex Anymore.”
The video spotlights a married couple — played by a pair of chimps — going through the boring motions of day-to-day life. The husband, fed up with the situation, drives off mid-video to a strip club, where he hangs out with the Full House actor and a bevy of dancers. The chimp then returns home to his wife, satisfied with the brief dalliance in the single life.

“Oh, baby, let the bad times roll,” the Offspring sing on the title track to their new album, resigning themselves to a world in peril. It’s the stalwart California punk band’s first studio LP in nearly a decade, and their first for Concord after a lengthy run on Capitol, but the label change and the departure of their longtime bassist haven’t blunted the Offspring’s edge. Working with producer Bob Rock (Metallica), they set doom-and-gloom lyrics (as heard on the shrug-emoji title track and the prescient “This...

The Offspring have revealed a video for their new single “Let the Bad Times Roll” — and it’s as trippy as you’d expect.
The clip features the band performing the track (a nod to the Cars’ “Let the Good Times Roll”) as teens get in sticky situations — cellphones attack, kitty screen savers come to life, and mobs enter bedrooms surrounded by flying viruses.
The band dropped “Let the Bad Times Roll” last month. It’s the title track to their upcoming album out April 16th — their first in nearly a decade.

The Offspring return to their signature mix of guileless pop-punk and forked-tongue irony on “Let the Bad Times Roll,” the title track off their upcoming record, which will be their first in nearly a decade.
Although the title puns off the Cars, the track starts off sounding a bit more like the Police, as Dexter Holland mewls the song title over acoustic guitar before the band settles into a hard rock groove and he sings to his lover, “Let me know what you decide, apathy or suicide,” as he sardonically...

Cyndi Lauper duetted alongside a diverse group of artists that included Marilyn Manson, Henry Rollins, Kesha and Perry Farrell at the singer’s annual Home for the Holidays benefit gig Tuesday, held this year at Los Angeles’ the Novo.
The bright yellow mohawked Lauper and Manson teamed for a lengthy rendition of the shock rocker’s “The Beautiful People,” with Manson opening the performance with a sinister take on Lauper’s hit “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.” Lauper also joined Rollins for an intense, keytar-heavy version of the Black Flag classic “Rise Above.

There are many reasons for Elton John fans to check out the upcoming movie Rocketman. The fantasy musical is a wonderful showcase for the music that John created with Bernie Taupin during the past 50 years, and Taron Egerton does a magnificent job singing everything from “Your Song” to “Amoreena” and “Crocodile Rock.” The film tells the story of Elton’s life from his days as a child piano prodigy to his commercial breakthrough in 1970 all the way to his life-changing stint in rehab 20 years later.

The Offspring and 311 are heading out on a 29-date co-headlining tour on July 25th – an idea we fully support for catching both the rays of summer and the waves of late-Nineties nostalgia. But to promote the Never-Ending Summer Tour, the two multi-platinum bands have decided to cover each others’ hits and the results are the musical equivalent of a key party that gives all the participants chlamydia.

It’s usually best not to judge a book by its cover, as Dexter Holland, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for The Offspring is not just the rocker he portrays in the band. The guy has a wide variety of interesting facts that can be affixed to his person and is surprisingly a much deeper individual than he appears at times. People tend to see the wild hair and the guitar in his hand and think that he must be just another rock and roll icon that knows a lot about some things but almost nothing about one thing. The

Nerdventures: Familiar Songs From Distant Worlds
When I went to summer camp, the oldest boy’s dorm — and focus point of younger male’s uncool envy — would always get up to antics which their disciples could only aspire to. One of their common flare ups would take place in the mess hall. During any too-dull-to-stand moments or amid any too-hyped-to-ignore cheer offs, they would take it upon themselves to stand on their chairs and in an uncoordinated harmony of vocoded ‘doots’ and ‘deets’ the good old boys would give their try at impersonating the instantly recognizable Super Mario theme. Between the three Game Boy Colours that circulated my padawan dorm, it became clear that this could actually be the second oldest/third youngest crew on camp’s chance to shine, and so it was suggested to my counsellor that perhaps we’d ‘back...

When Green Day ushered in the next wave of punk with Dookie back in 1994, they opened the floodgates for a number of bands who broke through to the mainstream. In addition to Rancid and (later) Blink-182, by far the biggest success of that next wave was the Offspring. Built from the wreckage of Los Angeles hardcore and stoned California skate punk, the Offspring crashed radio and MTV with head-banging shout-alongs like "Self Esteem" and "Come Out and Play (Keep 'Em Separated)," which pushed their 1994 album Smash to multi-platinum status. After signing to a major label and stumbling a bit with their 1997 follow-up Ixnay on the Hombre, the band returned to the upper echelons of the Billboard charts with Americana, which was released on this day in 1998.
Americana saw the Offspring expanding on their core sound and adding elements of metal and prog rock to their buzzsaw approach. The clearest expansion...

The Offspring have come out, bringing a music video for their single "Kristy, Are You Doing Okay". In the Lex Halaby-directed video, singer Dexter Holland is seen strumming his guitar and performing the track in a room full of ripped-off notes stuck on its wall.
"Kristy, Are You Doing Okay" is one of the songs listed in The Offspring's eight major studio album "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace". Written by Dexter Holland, the single comes from the production hands of Bob Rock, the mastermind behind Metallica's 1991 self-titled studio album.
"Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" itself has hit the U.S. market since June 2008 via Columbia Records. The record debuted at number 10 on Billboard Hot 200, selling around 46,000 copies in its first week in stores.
