- István Homoki Nagy was born on September 2, 1914 in Mezõtúr, Hungary. He was a director and writer, known for Macskakaland (1968), A kurtalábú pásztor (1972) and Gyöngyvirágtól lombhullásig (1953). He was married to Zsuzsa Homokiné Zsoldos. He died on December 14, 1979 in Budapest, Hungary.

- Became famous as the director, writer and cinematographer of the first Hungarian documentary films about nature in the 1950s.
- Qualified with a law degree in 1937 and worked as a court clerk and subsequently as a lawyer. In the early 40's, he became a member of the International Photographers Association and joined the photographic section of the Natural History Museum. By the end of the decade, he was shooting footage for the Hungarian Newsreel and Documentary Film Factory.
