Elizabeth James has been a writer for Wow! (Compuserv for children), a
website reviewer for Excite.com, a new media instructor for the UCLA
Extension Writers Program, and has published numerous non-fiction
informational books for children.
Co-authored a number of suspense novels, with collaborator Carol Barkin, and published under the name "Beverly Hastings".
Never been Married.
Grew up in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Her family eventually moved to Denver, where she attended Lakewood High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Colorado College in Colorado Springs.
In August 1967, she was in San Antonio on a promotional tour for her debut film, Born Losers. She was visiting the Alamo and was approached by a teenage fan who had seen the movie in their nearby hometown. James said it was her first autograph signing and she was nervous.
