Actor Clint Eastwood’s ex-wife Dina agreed to air a reality TV series about the day-to-day lives of the Eastwood household. But given Eastwood’s private nature, it was reported that the reality show might’ve stirred conflict between the actor and his wife.

It’s been exactly one year since the final season of “Bling Empire” premiered, and reality TV veteran Jeff Jenkins, who has executive produced shows ranging from “The Simple Life” to “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” looks back at the Netflix series about affluent Asian Americans as one of his most personal and proudest projects.
“More than any other show I’ve ever produced in my 25 year career is closest to my heart,” Jenkins told TheWrap. “My niece and nephew were adopted as infants from China and South Korea, respectively. They’re teenagers now, but when they were coming up, there was almost no one like them on television on a regular basis, scripted or unscripted.”
“When ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ came out [in 2018] and was a smash hit, I determined this is the moment. This is the moment! I thought, ‘Okay, who are the wealthiest Asians in Los Angeles?’ And luckily,...

“Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake” just finished its first season, and stars Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan hope to hit the road again soon.
The Bravo series followed the two “Real Housewives of New York” alum as they traveled to Benton, Illinois, to revive the local tourism after the pandemic. While in Benton, de Lesseps and Morgan sampled the local attractions (including crappie fishing and a testicle festival) and men. Sunday’s Season 1 finale culminated with a variety show featuring the duo and Benton residents.
“When they asked us to do the show, we didn’t know what to expect,” de Lesseps told TheWrap. “And we say that often about starting a new season of ‘Housewives’ — you just never know, right? We went in kind of blindfolded. And we were really pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the people were.”

As you may have heard, the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con International was not the usual Sdcc experience.
On July 14, the American actors’ union SAG-AFTRA joined their writing counterparts in the WGA by going on strike and picketing the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for its refusal to grant them a fair deal. Since the details of the strike preclude actors and writers from promoting their union-backed films and TV shows, many of the planned panels, promotions, and guests at Comic-Con had to bow out.
The end result was a Con that very much resembled the event’s earlier days before it became a action item on the calendar for big studios like Marvel, DC, and others to showcase their upcoming blockbusters. And you know what? It was all still pretty cool!

Reality television producer Jeff Jenkins has worked with a lot of big personalities in his career, including the Kardashians, Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey. His newest show, Bravo’s “Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake,” features former “Real Housewives” Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. But despite their reputations — de Lesseps is a former countess and Morgan was married to Jp Morgan’s great-grandson, after all — Jenkins found himself surprised by the just how down to earth the duo were.
Check out TheWrap’s interview with Jenkins below to learn how the duo was cast and if they really stayed in that motel while filming.

Comic-Con and the Party Report return to a SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike affected San Diego where celebrities avoided the party scene because of guild rules. As a result, EW canceled their annual (and usually star-studded) bash; an indication of a very different year at Sdcc — and on the comic-con parties scene. But the con raged on just the same, so here are TheWrap’s photos from some of Sdcc 2023’s best parties.

The annual Fandom, presented by Paramount+ and Electronic Arts, Z2 and Pinfinity, was easily and clearly con’s best and classiest bash on Thursday night.

The ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA labor strikes, claimed their first major fan expo victim in San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Last year, the annual geek fest was back in full swing post-covid with the party scene returning with numerous bashes around Comic-Con.
But this year, with Hollywood talent practically forbidden from even attending the event, many brands have pulled out along with big-name party cancellations. Brands who sponsor Comic-Con bashes want Hollywood film and tv stars on their step and repeats. No stars? No brands? No parties.
Comic-Con’s biggest bash via Entertainment Weekly cancelled due to the strikes. IMDb, decided not to go forward with their annual yacht party, but will have a presence this year regardless. The yacht will serve as a floating fan experience and will be docked at Fifth Avenue Landing, directly behind the San Diego Convention Center.
Comic-Con 2023 is going to look like the cons of yore before Hollywood arrived.

Jeff Jenkins made his name in unscripted television as an executive producer of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” among other shows. But he’d been thinking about starting his own production company for some time before exiting his position as co-president of Bunim-Murray Productions. His desire to entertain viewers and inspire meaningful conversations with his shows pushed him to take the leap.
“We get to tell stories that, once in a while, actually can help advance our human culture in a small way,” Jenkins told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View.
That’s what he’s striving to do at Jeff Jenkins Productions, which he formed in 2018, a year after leaving Bunim-Murray, alongside 3Bmg Entertainment’s CEO Ross Weintraub and Chairman Reinout Oerlemans. 3Bmg co-produces the programming alongside Jenkins and his company, which operates out of 3Bmg’s production offices in Sherman Oaks.

Kris Jenner took the stand for the second day in the 100M defamation trial brought on by Blac Chyna, the ex-fiancé of her son, Rob Kardashian. Chyna sued the Kardashian family in 2017, claiming they ruined her reality TV career. She has accused Jenner — the grandmother of her and Kardashian’s five-year-old daughter, Dream — of being the ringleader who facilitated a master plan to axe Chyna from E!’s airwaves because the famous family had a vendetta against her.
Chyna, a model and influencer whose real name is Angela White, says the Kardashian-Jenners are responsible for cancelling Season 2 of the former couple’s reality show, “Rob & Chyna,” which aired on E! for one season in 2016. But Jenner says there was nothing to cancel because the show was never renewed.

Netflix has renewed “My Unorthodox Life” for a second season.
The show stars fashion executive Julia Haart, who left the ultra-Orthodox community in which she was raised to conquer the modern world. The unscripted series follows her and her four children as they navigate life since leaving their extreme religious Jewish community.
Still a proud Jewish woman, but not religious, Haart is now the CEO of Elite World Group, one of the world’s largest modeling and talent management agencies.
Haart was raised in Monsey in upstate New York where she had four kids after an arranged marriage. She had never been on a first date and did not have a career. At the age of 35, she started to explore the idea of leaving for the outside world by reading books and watching television and movies. Less than 10 years ago, at 43 years old, she decided to leave her community and set out on her own.

Netflix debuted a trailer for its upcoming three-part docuseries, “Naomi Osaka,” debuting July 16.
“No one really knows all the sacrifices you make,” the titular athlete narrates in the trailer opening.

The intimate three-episode series chronicles Osaka’s hectic training and travel schedule as she finds time to be with friends and family and explore her Haitian and Japanese roots. It launches just one week before her run at the Tokyo Olympics begins.
“The series is about Naomi’s journey, within a snapshot of her life, but it’s also about life’s purpose, about personal worth, about the courage that it takes to allow one’s personal values to inform their work and vice versa,” Bradley said. “More than anything, I’d hope...

Jeff Jenkins has worked on reality series The Simple Life, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and most recently, Netflix’s Bling Empire.
Deadline can reveal that Jenkins is also working with pop star Paula Abdul, former Trump advisor Anthony Scaramucci and Jocelyn Wildenstein, the socialite known for her extensive, catlike cosmetic surgery, as he looks to take advantage of the latest boom in the world of reality docusoaps.
“I like to work with the unique folks out there. They’re harder and harder to find in our homogenized world and it is definitely becoming harder and harder to find fresh, unique, on-camera talent who the viewer is compelled to watch,” he told Deadline.
His latest project, Bling Empire, launched in January 2021 and he says it has become one of Netflix’s most-watched unscripted docuseries to date, numbers that encouraged the streamer to renew it for a second season.

"These shows follow a person or group of people going about their real, everyday lives. They can offer a fun, lighthearted escape, or inspire a juicy, heated debate," Brandon Riegg, Netflix's vice president of unscripted and documentary series, said in a statement. "Whether you love these shows outright or just love a guilty pleasure, we're thrilled that Netflix members have embraced our docusoaps."

Netflix's Bling Empire focuses on a range of colorful characters, but perhaps the most fascinating among the reality TV show's group of affluent Asians is Anna Shay. In Southern California's inner circle of wealthy Asians, Shay emerges as a matriarch of sorts, known for her impromptu Parisian trips, indulgence in beautiful jewelry, and lavish parties - the very first episode actually leads up to Shay's fête. She's also known for her occasional quips. Bling Empire's introduction to Shay is pretty remarkable as well. We first meet her while she's smashing her shoe closet while wearing a fancy red gown. So who is the mysterious Anna Shay? Let's dive into all that we know about the series' unofficial reigning godmother.
The 60-year-old heiress is the daughter of Edward and Ai-San Shay. Shay's billionaire father made a fortune when, in 1955, he started Pacific Architects and Engineers, an American defense and...

There’s the sort of wealth that buys designer clothes. Then there’s the sort of wealth that shuts down Rodeo Drive for a private Lunar New Year party, has a nine-piece band and a Gucci claw machine for a 1-year-old’s birthday, and takes a friend to their favorite restaurant — in Paris — as a treat.
