- Selwyn Jepson was born in 1899. He was a writer and director, known for Stage Fright (1950), Toilers of the Sea (1936) and Sailing Along (1938). He died in 1989.

- According to Fay Weldon's autobiography, "Auto da Fay", Selwyn Jepson is her uncle on her mother's side. Arriving in war-torn London after World War II, along with her mother, her sister and her grandmother from New Zealand he gave them a place to live for a time.
- His position with SOE during World War II was as the senior recruiting officer for Section F (France). He recruited Violette Szabo whom the film Carve Her Name With Pride is about.
