TV viewers in the UK will soon get an inside look at the world of YouTube vloggers. BBC Three is set to air a documentary called Rise of the Superstar Vloggers, which will follow YouTuber Jim Chapman as he interviews his friends and colleagues in the YouTube community.
The 60-minute documentary will feature conversations between Chapman (who himself has more than 2.4 million subscribers) and top YouTube stars like Tyler Oakley, Joe Sugg, Alfie Deyes, Laci Green, Marcus Butler, and Ingrid Nilsen. Additional videomakers, such as Rhett & Link and Tomska, will show up to talk about the influence of vlogs and their creators.
The goal, according to producer Little Dot Studios, is to paint a complete picture of the vlogging profession, one that heralds its positive impact while also recognizing its drawbacks. Some of the featured vloggers, for example, will discuss how hard it is for them to maintain any sort of private life.

Dan Jones in The Plantagenets from Acorn Media Rlj Entertainment
By Kieran Kinsella
Heraldic dramas like Game of Thrones and The White Queen serve to whet your appetite but nothing beats a healthy dose of historical skullduggery. Athena deliver just that with the DVD release of Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty: The Plantagenets.
Long before the house of Windsor burst onto the scene, the Plantagenets sat on the throne of England. French speaking descendants of William the Conqueror, their dynasty lasted for just over three hundred years and spawned some of histories grizzliest scandals. Do you remember Ts Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral when the Archishop of Canterbury was killed by the King’s knights? The King in question was Henry II — a Plantagenet. How about Bad King John of Robin Hood fame? He was a Plantagenet too as was Richard III who achieved notoriety for killing off the young princes in the tower.

Our staffers have found three of the best kind of vacation books: they're engrossing and long enough to keep you mesmerized until the sun sets. Let us know what you think of our choices - and what you're reading. Tom Gliatto, TV Critic His Pick: The Plantagenets by Dan Jones Why would you pack a 534-page book of medieval British history in your beach tote? Because this account of the powerful line of kings from Henry II to Richard II is so commandingly readable - by my count, there are no more than four dull paragraphs in the whole thing.

Taking voices away from actors, or plunging audiences into darkness, can provide an immersive, more intimate experience
For the makers of The Artist, clutching five Oscars this week including best film, silence is quite literally golden.
Some have argued that it wooed the Academy by conjuring up the romance of Hollywood's past. Regardless of its awards success, it has won the hearts of the public with a novel approach that trusted them to take an imaginative leap. Disposing with dialogue let the viewer engage in an unfamiliar way with the characters and invest in the story.
By depriving the actors of their voices, director Michel Hazanavicius focused attention on gesture, action and movement. Of course, all those things are present in a talkie, but without words a raised eyebrow takes on greater significance, and the look of love, when it does not have to speak, is invested with unfamiliar power.
