On this week’s Blue Bloods on CBS, one of the world’s finest actors — whom many have called the American [Sir Laurence] Olivier — is appearing as Archbishop Kevin Kearns. Actor Stacy Keach is instantly recognizable and has a body of work that is enviable in its scope and range. Asked about the often cited comparisons to the great late British thespian, he recalls in Dennis Brown’s biography, Actors Talk: Profiles and Stories from the Acting Trade, how after a chance meeting with Sir Olivier, he was introduced by Olivier as “Stanley Kreech”. The Hammer Museum gets all literary June 16 with its third annual celebration of James Joyce's classic novel "Ulysses." A cast of seasoned actors, including Bairbre Dowling, James Gallo, Kevin Kearns, and Colin Simon, re-enacts the "Aeolus" chapter of the massive tome, in which Leopold Bloom and Stephen Dedalus almost encounter each other in the offices of a Dublin newspaper. Whether or not you're brave enough to join in and read aloud, you can still enjoy live Irish music by the Sweet Set and, perhaps best of all, a Guinness happy hour. Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., Westwood. 4 p.m. Free. www.hammer.ucla.edu.

In addition to his skills building relationships onstage, Wilson Milam seems to particularly enjoy reconnecting with artists and meeting new ones. As director of Martin McDonagh's "The Lieutenant of Inishmore," which opened at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles this week, Milam has gathered an international cast and recruited other artists from both sides of the pond for this production, even though he helmed versions of it in Stratford, London, and New York prior to this incarnation.Nominated for a Tony Award for his direction of "Inishmore," Milam, a former actor, also directed "Poor Beast in the Rain" at the Matrix Theatre in Los Angeles, as well as plays at Berkeley Rep, Woolly Mammoth, and Steppenwolf in the U.S., and the Royal Court, the Abbey, Shakespeare's Globe, and Donmar Warehouse in the U.K and Ireland.Back Stage met with him during previews of the Taper production of "Inishmore.

It's Saturday, March 13, 2010, when Dread arrives to the snowy set of director Elise Robertson's horror feature Donner Pass. Penned by Scott Adams and executive produced by Mouncey Ferguson, who financed the film, the independent feature tells the story of an unlucky group of teens who, while on a ski trip in the mountains around Lake Tahoe, encounter George Donner, an entity with a taste for human flesh, and unfortunately for the group, it's for their own.
Setting foot into the remote mountain cabin that production has secured, and at present is being utilized as base-camp, I meet associate producer Duncan Ferguson, who fills us in on the status of Donner Pass, starring John (the voice of the Crypt Keeper) Kassir as 'Epstein', Adelaide (Power Rangers R.P.M.) Kane as 'Nicole', Desiree Hall as 'Kayley', and Antonio Trischitta as 'Brody', with the cast rounded out by up-and-comers Erik Stocklin...
