Hulu has come on board Anna Friel-fronted British drama Butterfly after a deal with Fremantle. The U.S. streaming service will launch the three-part mini-series on January 18.
Fronted by the Marcella star, Butterfly is penned by The Secret Agent writer Tony Marchant. It tells the story of the complex relationship between separated parents, Vicky, played by Friel and Stephen, played by Emmett J. Scanlan, and their division in opinion over how to support their youngest child, Max, played by Callum Booth-Ford. From a young age, Max has identified as a girl but has tried to suppress these feelings in an attempt to earn Stephen’s approval.
The show is produced by Red Production Company and Adam Kemp’s Aenon for ITV. Nicola Shindler, Caroline Hollick and Adam Kemp are executive producers on the show, which launched in the UK in October.

Our first post-Catherine episode of CSI, "Tressed to Kill," may have also been the most eerie offering so far this season. I can safely say that I didn’t see the murderer being a mama’s boy, with a hair fetish, fulfilling a desire to make women over in her image and then kill them.
This episode officially creeped me out, and I don’t think I will ever be able to listen to Charlie Rich’s “The Most Beautiful Girl” again without the images of the first victim popping into my head.
I also have to give full props to Charlie Brewster.... I mean William Ragsdale. Although he played a schmuck recently on Justified, I didn’t see him being the culprit; my money was on the son Adam Kemp (David Gallagher) from the moment he and his vapid mother came on screen.
I knew going into this episode...

LONDON -- History with a reality-style strand running alongside it colored BBC1's £272 million ($493.2 million) spring and summer season launch Tuesday in London. Underpinning the schedule was the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings, which will see live coverage of the D-Day Memorial Event and other veterans' celebrations and a major co-production drama, D-day, with French broadcaster Telefrance and German broadcaster ProSeiben. A two-hour production, D-day will focus on the British contribution to the invasion, said Adam Kemp, BBC commissioner for independent and nations. "It will tell what I hope are fresh stories about the commanders' dilemmas and seeing it through the eyes of the young men who lived through that most epic of days," Kemp said. D-day will be backed by Destination D-day: Raw Recruits, which will take 19 young men through D-Day-style training while accompanied by veterans of the battle.
