"We're now at the point of the development process where after months of brainstorming, experimenting, executing and rehearsing, things are forming and solidifying to create a whole picture, which is really exciting," filmmaker and 2010 Aftrs graduate Kate Vinen tells Filmink. "The different elements combined - sound, music, film, set design, lighting, acting - are becoming a beautifully rich and nuanced world. You can almost smell the salt spray." Vinen is speaking to us about The Bonfire - a bold new Australian play, which sees the theatre and film worlds collide. Written by Sydney based playwright Sime Knezevic and directed by Jane Grimley, The Bonfire follows three teens celebrating New Year's eve on a beach along New South Wales' South Coast.
