Exclusive: The Abrams Artists Agency is beefing the ranks of its New York theatrical youth department with the hire of Don Buchwald & Associates’ Victoria Kress and Katie Chambers as well as former Abrams agent-in-training Jamie Pillet. The move follows last week’s move of Ellen Gilbert, head of Abrams’ New York youth department, and her associate Rachel Altman to Paradigm. Kress, Chambers and Pillet join 20-year Abrams veteran Bonnie Shumofsky, who heads the agency’s Youth Commercial department in New York. Kress has been a theatrical agent for children and young adults at Buchwald for the past 15 years. Prior to that, she worked with young clients at J. Michael Bloom & Associates in New York and was with The Carson Organization, again specializing in young actors. She is bringing a number of clients with her. Chambers has been Kress’ associate at Buchwald for the last several years. Before that she worked with Scott Rudin Prods.
