Production is under way on Altitude Film Entertainment and Citrus Films’ family movie Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, based on the popular children’s book series by Terry Deary and illustrated by Martin Brown.
Shooting now on location in the UK and Bulgaria, the film will cast the antics of the Roman Empire in a comedic light. It will follow Atti, a Roman teenager with brains but very little brawn. When one of his clever schemes falls foul of Emperor Nero, he is forced to join the army and is sent to miserable, cold, wet Britain where the natives are revolting – quite literally. Things go from bad to worse when Atti is captured by Orla, a feisty teenage Celt desperate to prove herself as a warrior.
Dominic Brigstocke, director of the TV version of the series, will make his feature directorial debut. Script comes from Jessica Swale together with Giles Pilbrow and Caroline Norris.

Unrivalled in its ability to showcase the worst of people, Channel 4's Come Dine With Me sucks viewers into an ineludible abyss...
Dinner parties are rubbish, they're just dinner with added pressure. Why add pressure to dinner? It’s probably the best meal of the day. Come Dine With Me dinner parties on the other hand, are amazing. Intrigue! Underhand tactics! People riffling through strangers’ bedroom drawers! They've got it all.
For those who don’t know, Channel 4's Come Dine With Me entails people from the same area each putting on a dinner party on consecutive nights in the hope of winning £1000. They all score each other out of ten and with any luck, someone kicks off.
There is something wonderful about watching a group of people who have been thrust together in such an unusual situation – who will make the most disastrous dish?...

Cbbc has ordered another pile of Danger Mouse episodes, with Alexander Armstrong and Kevin Eldon set to return...
Cbbc’s Danger Mouse revamp has been renewed for a second series. You’d expect the show’s impressive voice cast – including Alexander Armstrong, Kevin Eldon, Dave Lamb, Stephen Fry and Lena Headey – to assemble once again.
Alexander Armstrong is definitely coming back, and he had this to say about the renewal:
“I have had enormous fun playing Danger Mouse, whose style, bravery and wit I greatly admire. I am almost unbearably excited about what new magnificent missions and terrifying situations the writing team will come up with for Danger Mouse and Penfold in series two!”
Penfold himself, Mr Kevin Eldon, added this:
“It’s a funny old world. You get no series of Danger Mouse for 23 years and then two come along at once. All right, there’s been 18 months between them,...

"No threat is too small, no evil too great for this secret agent mouse and his sidekick! Villains: You've been warned.”
Netflix has released the first trailer for their upcoming animated action series, Danger Mouse. This is a remake of the original cartoon that aired in the UK from 1981 to 1992. I remember watching a few episodes of that show, but I was more into Mighty Mouse since that’s what was airing in the Us when I was growing up. The new Danger Mouse series updates the world’s greatest super spy rodent for the 21st century, and it looks like a lot of fun.

Danger Mouse is back! This slick, self-aware, modern revival boasts plenty of action and jokes...
It’s been over a year since the BBC announced it was remaking Danger Mouse, a show which has a special place in the hearts of a generation of children. Understandably, there’ve been nerves; can Danger Mouse thrive without David Jason and Terry Scott? Will the new team stick with what made the show great in the first place? Is there a place for Danger Mouse on television today? Will this ruin childhoods?
Based on the first episode of the revived series, the answer to all of those questions is tentatively ‘yes’. Except that last one; as we’ve said before on this site, even the worst remake can’t have any genuine impact on your childhood. And, happily, Danger Mouse is far from being the worst remake.

Channel 4 is bringing Come Dine with Me to our screens in a whole new format, as it commissions an 'ultimate' version of the flagship series.
Produced by Shiver productions for Channel 4 Daytime, the 20-episode, 60-minute show will feature former winners competing against each other for the title of 'champion of champions'.
In keeping with Come Dine with Me tradition, the contestants will rate one another's efforts after each evening's dinner party.
However, in a new twist, the host will also be judged by an extra-critical mystery guest.
After four days of heats held in a country manor house, each day's winner will return to battle for that week's overall crown.
Long-time narrator Dave Lamb will present the show for the first time in the series, stepping in front of the camera to provide his trademark sarcastic commentary.

Sadly for Strictly fans though, while the Harry Potter actor showed a fondness for the show, he made it clear he won't be heading to the ballroom anytime soon.
When asked which reality show he'd choose to go on, Radcliffe told Radio Times: "I guess Strictly, because at least my mum and dad would be proud."
He quickly added: "But it's not an option!"
Speaking about other TV, the 26-year-old went on to say: "The show I miss when I'm away, weirdly, is Come Dine with Me.
"I watch a lot of it. It's all down to the voiceover guy, Dave Lamb. Other versions in different countries just aren't as good."

The latest Batman baddy reveals that the source of his most demonic creations is daytime television. Is it a surprise?
It all makes so much sense now. If you rewatch Tom Hardy's idiosyncratic turn as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises – the domineering personality, the love of violent confrontation, the terrible dress sense, the fondness of his own voice, all the bizarre "That's a lovely lovely voice" non-sequiturs – it becomes painfully apparent where the inspiration for such a monster could come from. Clearly, Tom Hardy is a massive daytime television fan.
That's not as silly as it sounds. This week, during an interview with Total Film, Hardy revealed that one of the primary influences for his role as Forrest Bondurant in the upcoming crime thriller Lawless was Come Dine with Me. "I watch Come Dine with Me!" he told the magazine. "I really do like Come Dine with Me.
"I watch Come Dine with Me!" he told the magazine. "I really do like Come Dine with Me.

It was only a couple of months ago that the famed children’s producers, The Foundation and CBeebies, released their DVDs on the popular Big Barn Farm and they have now made a new DVD from another of their popular shows, Waybuloo.
The format and structure of the show has made it popular among children and grown-ups alike, even getting the CBeebies channel to change the new format earlier this year (which had Dave Lamb from Come Dine With Me and Big Barn Farm narrating and having half the running time cut down) back to the original format (which has no narration and is twenty minutes long).
This latest DVD joins a big number of Waybuloo products already released, but has some new and interesting features to make it appealing for fans of the series.

The Foundation are behind some of the most popular television shows for children for the past few years, including Mister Maker, Scorpion Island, Finger Tips, Dani’s House and Waybuloo.
But one of their shows that is still airing on CBeebies since it’s debut in 2008 is Big Barn Farm, a live action television show that stars barnyard animals who have adventures around the barn they all live on.
Three DVDs have been released this week (Welcome to Big Barn Farm, Greedy Goat and Other Stories and Best in Show and Other Stories) and rather than reviewing each one separately in different articles, I will review the DVDs in terms of the quality of the show and the episodes in these products.
These DVDs each feature five episodes from the television series and introduces viewers to the Farmyard Bunch, a group of farmyard animals that all live at Big Barn Farm.

Dave Lamb has been dropped from the CBeebies programme Waybuloo. The Come Dine With Me host recently signed up to narrate the programme in an attempt to make it more enjoyable for parents. However, following the first episode in the new format on Monday, parents took to the show's official blog to complain about the changes. They described the voiceover as "unnecessary", an "epic fail", "inane prattle" and "aggressive, almost as if [Lamb] was mocking the characters" in posts on the blog, which detailed the new format. Other commenters suggested (more)...

Dragonfruit
He concocted a combination pie for each HMs using all of the ingredients. The HMs decided to crown Andrew the winner of the task and gave him 108 out of a possible 110 points. In true Come Dine With Me style Andrew was presented with a cash prize – £50.
Tonight in a Bb first, the famous voice of Big Brother Marcus Bentley will hand over his microphone to Come Dine With Me’s narrator Dave Lamb who will provide his usual sharp eyed witty commentary as the HMs complete the task.
