- Otto Lang was born on January 21, 1908 in Tesanta, Austria-Hungary [now Tesanj, Bosnia and Herzegovina]. He was a director and producer, known for 5 Fingers (1952), Call Northside 777 (1948) and Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970). He was married to Sinclair Gannon. He died on January 30, 2006 in Seattle, Washington, USA.

- He was a pioneer Pacific Northwest ski instructor who once doubled on the slopes for figure skating champion turned actress Sonja Henie and taught movie mogul Darryl F. Zanuck to ski before launching his own career as a Hollywood producer.
- A handsome, athletic Lang displayed his own graceful skiing style in the independently produced 1938 short Ski Flight (1938), also known as "Snow Flight." The first American-made ski film shown in US theaters, it was voted best documentary by the nation's theater exhibitors.
