Snd has taken on international sales for Anne Le Ny’s psychological thriller Out Of Control (Histoire d’Un Mariage) starring Vanessa Paradis, Omar Sy, José Garcia and Elodie Bouchez, ahead of Unifrance’s Rendez-Vous with French Cinema.
Set in Brittany, the story follows a couple whose marriage is threatened when the husband’s first love returns to town.

The 46th César Awards, France’s top film honors, have been handed out in Paris, with Dominik Moll’s crime thriller The Night of the 12th winning the best picture trophy.
Moll’s The Night of the 12th, which premiered in Cannes last year, scored 10 César noms coming into the awards show, just behind Louis Garrel’s The Innocent, which picked up 11 nominations. Moll also won for best director, and Bouli Lanners earned the best supporting actor trophy for his performance in The Night of the 12th.

Cohen Media Group has acquired all Us release rights to Chinese Puzzle, starring Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris.
The romantic comedy-drama is the third film in writer-director Cedric Klapisch’s Spanish Apartment series and will be released theatrically in early 2014.
The film is produced by Ce qui me meut / Bruno Levy and co-produced by Studiocanal - France 2 Cinéma in France and Panache productions & La Cie Cinématographique - Rtbf in Belgium.

- A biopic about an unknown painter cleaned up the 34th edition of the Cesar awards (France's equivalent to the Oscars). You would have thought that it was an homage to Sean Penn (the actor was in attendance, first row ticket) and the dearly departed Claude Berri, but this was Martin Provost's night upsetting favorites Jean-François Richet and Mesrine (who won for Best Director and Best Actor) and the Palme d'Or winner The Class from Laurent Cantet winner went home with only the Best Adapted Film. Séraphine won a total of seven awards. Kristin Scott Thomas didn't claim the top prize for Best Actress for I've Loved You So Long (the prize went to Yolande Moreau in Séraphine) but Philippe Claudel won for Best First Film and a very emotional Elsa Zylberstein grabbed the Best Supporting Actress nod. Finally, a little bit of redemption here for Best Foreign Picture,

Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the U.S. rights to Cedric Klapisch's Paris, starring Juliette Binoche.
The film, which premiered this month at the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Rendez-Vous With French Cinema, was written and directed by Klapisch and produced by Ce Qui Me Meut's Bruno Levy. It is slated for release in the fall.
Paris features interconnected stories of characters taking a deeper look at how to live their lives. It also stars Romain Duris, who plays a young Parisian diagnosed with a life-threatening illness that changes the way he sees everyone around him.
Fabrice Luchini, Albert Dupontel, Francois Cluzet, Karin Viard, Melanie Laurent, Gilles Lellouche, Zinedine Soualem and Julie Ferrier also star.
The film, which opened Feb. 20 in France, has made a strong showing at the French boxoffice. It marks the sixth collaboration between Klapisch and Duris.
" 'Paris' works on every level," said Peter Goldwyn, vp acquisitions at Samuel Goldwyn Films. "It is a beautifully told story with an exceptional cast, including the city itself, which has never looked so radiant and compelling onscreen."
The deal was negotiated by Goldwyn with StudioCanal's Saya Huddleston on behalf of the filmmakers.

PARIS -- French director Cedric Klapisch will begin shooting Les Poupees Russe (The Russian Dolls), a sequel to his 2002 hit The Spanish Apartment on June 1, producer Bruno Levy said Thursday. Levy heads the Ce Qui Me Meut Motion Pictures production company along with Klapisch. The 10.5 million ($12.5 million) project reunites five of the characters from Spanish five years after the European students shared an apartment in Barcelona.
