The 2014 Tony nominations were announced on Tuesday, and left many elated and just as many puzzled. No Denzel? Or Daniel Radcliffe? And nothing for everyone’s favorite traveling NYC duo? But there were some wonderful surprises (four acting nods for Twelfth Night!) and the lack of frontrunners (minus Neil Patrick Harris, Bryan Cranston, and perhaps this divine gal) will make the Hugh Jackman-hosted ceremony on CBS June 8 full of nail-biters. But here are some fun trivia bits about this year you can chew over until then (many of them compiled by our own Jake Perlman):

The theater world was fixated this week on Tuesday’s announcement of the Tony nominations, which should prove a box office boon for much-nominated shows like Once, Newsies, and Peter and the Starcatcher. Of course, the noms also prompted the same-day closing notice of two shows completely overlooked for awards consideration: Magic/Bird and the Teresa Rebeck comedy Seminar. (And vultures are circling other shows, like the new musical Leap of Faith, that received only a smattering of Tony love.)

The Great White Way is buzzing this morning with the unveiling of the 2012 Tony nominations, and many of Broadway's usual suspects were singled out with nods—see James Earl Jones, Audra McDonald and John Lithgow, for starters. Alas, there's only so much Tony love to go around (sorry, Samuel L. Jackson!). Here's a quick look at five of the biggest snubs: 1. Ricky Martin: He's been getting nightly raves in the role of Che in the Broadway revival of Evita, but unfortunately he won't be "Livin' la Vida Loca" at the awards ceremony on June 10 after Tony voters found the pop superstar a total bore. He was passed over for a nomination, though Evita scored three, including Best Revival of...

Our NCIS review broke down the latest installment of television's #1 show in great detail.
Now, TV Fanatic staff members Steve Marsi, Matt Richenthal and Eric Hochberger have assembled for their weekly Round Table Q&A discussion of events from this week's episode, "Psych Out."
Join in below, as we analyze Jaime Lee Curtis' character, Gibbs' psyche and more ...
----------------------------------
Describe this episode in one word (or two, or three).
Steve: Psychologically combative.
Matt: Different, but solid.
Eric: Excellent, intense.
What was your favorite one-liner from the episode?
Steve: Gibbs asking Vance if he spent "private time" with Ryan at school. It's precisely the kind of question Gibbs would just walk away uncomfortably from if the situation was reversed, and he seemed to revel in that.
Matt: Gibbs saying "goodnight" to Dr. Ryan after finding the bug in his basement, then promptly smashing the thing. Not really a one-liner in the zinger sense,...

Daniel Radcliffe was a surprising omission, but UK actors and plays from Jerusalem to War Horse shone in this year's Tony award nominations
Harry Potter should have cast a spell right before the announcement of the 2011 Tony award contenders – something along the lines of Nominatus Stellarium! – to secure a place in the running. But alas, Daniel Radcliffe's name was not among those uttered by presenters Matthew Broderick and Anika Noni Rose (maybe for the best; Broderick mangled Mark Rylance's surname as "Reliance").
Although box-office projections might have driven the casting of Radcliffe as corporate ladder-scrambler J Pierrepont Finch in the bouncy revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, the film star is perfectly charming, a decent singer, and his omission from nominations was the biggest surprise here. Perhaps the Tony nominating committee, heeding both its collective taste and last year's grumbling that too many awards went to slumming,...

As a wise man once said, Christmas is about receiving not giving. It's in that spirit that I present you with my '09 wish list, reprinted below with permission from the Bearded Fat One. * A Mad Men comeback for Sal. * A tie in the supporting actress TV category between Chloe Sevigny and Jane Lynch at next month's Golden Globe Awards. * A 10th season of Smallville and all the traffic that will come with it. * More than 10 million viewers for Chuck's third-season premiere on Sunday, Jan. 10. (But I'd settle for 7.) * Non-hallucinatory Huddy sex. * A box office boost for Ragtime that...
