- Gertrude McCoy was born on June 30, 1890 in Sugar Valley, Georgia, USA. She was an actress and writer, known for Nelson (1926), Through Turbulent Waters (1915) and The Blue Bird (1918). She was married to Duncan McRae. She died on July 17, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

- Brunette silent screen actress, a former vaudeville child performer. She signed up with the Edison Company in 1910 and for at least the next five years appeared in scores of one- and two-reel comedies and melodramas. She went freelance in 1915 and later married British actor Duncan McRae. Gertrude was best known for her playing 'Light' in Maurice Tourneur's 1918 production of "The Blue Bird". Her career did not survive the advent of sound.
