Most recently, his life became a subject of scrutiny in the documentary, Secrets of Playboy. Hefner’s Playboy mansion was home to numerous women at a time, who were all considered Hefner’s girlfriends. Hefner also had several strict rules for these girlfriends.

Crystal Hefner’s new memoir Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself details Hefner’s relationship with the now-deceased Playboy magazine founder.
The title of the book comes from what Hugh said to Crystal before his passing: “I want to remind you to only say good things about me.”
Hefner is going against her word by sharing the experiences she’s had and witnessed during her time at the Playboy mansion. Hugh controlled every last detail, including the type of nail polish they wore.
Crystal said that at the start of her Playboy career, she “thought [she] was on top.” As time progressed, she grew to resent the lifestyle. “I must have been brainwashed or something,” she stated.
Crystal also talked about the decay of the actual mansion, claiming that despite its elegant appearance,...

The Playboy empire is a subject of extreme controversy, especially in recent years, following the release of a scathing documentary titled Secrets of Playboy. Many critics have labeled founder and figurehead Hugh Hefner, who passed away in 2017, as an alleged perpetrator of sexual abuse and exploitation. Additionally, several of Hefner’s girlfriends have spoken out against the late mogul, with former The Girls Next Door star Holly Madison slamming her late boyfriend for putting a series of strict rules in place that his girlfriends had to follow.

Hefner was born in 1926 and raised in a middle-class family. However, Hefner had big ambitions, leaving his job as a copywriter to found Playboy magazine. The magazine originally featured short stories, essays, and photo spreads, but it quickly became known as a publication for men to salivate over pictures of nude and nearly-nude women.

Former reality star Holly Madison, who earlier dated and lived with ‘Playboy’ founder Hugh Hefner, won’t be called to testify during Harvey Weinstein’s Los Angeles rape trial, a judge has ruled.
The defence wanted Madison to take the stand in order to undermine testimony from actress Ashley Matthau, one of the uncharged supporting witnesses, reports ‘Variety’.
Matthau, who’s accusing Weinstein of sexual battery, claims the former mogul masturbated on her at his hotel in 2003 in Puerto Rico, where they were shooting Miramax’s ‘Dirty Dancing’ sequel, ‘Havana Nights’.

This girl next door just had a major Disneyland revelation. Over the weekend, Holly Madison revealed that she didn't realize until much later that people who work as costumed mascots at the Happiest Place on Earth and other Disney properties would refer to themselves as "friends" of their characters during off-hours. According to the Girls Next Door alum, who loves all-things Disney, she only noticed it after fans who are cast members at the theme parks began introducing themselves as such when meeting her. "You know how people who work at Disney parks, when they play a character, they're supposed to say friends of that character and not that they're that character? Well, I didn't know...

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
“Loki” director Kate Herron says she had a “conversation” with Marvel Studios about returning to direct the Disney+ series’ second season, but she decided it wasn’t for her.
“I was on the show for like three years in total,” she told me Sunday at the “Loki” FYC Emmy event at the Pacific Design Center. “I just felt like I poured everything into it. It’s almost like a campfire story that every filmmaker kind of brings their take and their perspective. I just felt like I gave so much to this. I was like, ‘You know what, I feel like this was my effort for ‘Loki.’ I felt like having someone new and with fresh eyes — that, for me, is what will make a good season.”

Hugh Hefner was revolutionary. Praised for his part in the sexual revolution of the 1960s, the Playboy founder was ahead of his time as an early proponent of gay rights, abortion and birth control. He was progressive with inclusion at his company when racism was rampant.
But, according to a new docuseries, Hefner was also a monster — one who would drug women, coerce them into sex, secretly record them in the bedroom and use his power and connections to blacklist and silence them into fear.
A&e’s 10-part “Secrets of Playboy,” which is airing Monday nights and had the network’s biggest premiere since Leah Remini’s Scientology series in 2016, re-examines Hefner and his Playboy Enterprises through the lens of 2022.
“I think that Hef had two sides to him and they were radically different,” says the doc’s director Alexandra Dean, who also directed Paris Hilton’s YouTube Originals documentary,...

A&e Network’s “Secrets of Playboy” is not here to play, boy. The upcoming docuseries, which unveiled its trailer Tuesday during the cable channel’s TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour day, aims to dive into the “ugly” side of Hugh Hefner’s outwardly “beautiful world,” as one of its interview subjects puts it. The side that “nobody wants to talk about,” another adds.

OnlyFans, the subscription platform best known for its Nsfw content that's used by 130 million people every month, has created its first app -- given that its flagship platform is disallowed from the Apple and Google app stores.
Oftv, as the new app is called, won’t feature any nudity and won’t charge any subscription fees, Bloomberg reports.
The app currently houses a library of roughly 800 videos starring some of the biggest OnlyFans creators, including original series called Unlocked, which features conversations with the likes of Mia Khalifa, Bella Thorne, and Holly Madison. Oftv also features original content from fitness instructors, chefs, and podcasters. Even though the content isn't pornographic, Bloomberg notes that many of the videos on Oftv are sexually-charged and feature scantily-clad creators.
