Since we like to keep in the loop on all thing indie horror, Dread Central recently heard from up-and-coming filmmaker Lee Vervoort (Gun Town), who shared with us that his next project, The Truck, is currently in production in Kentucky.
According to Vervoort, The Truck follows a pair of lovers, Roger Newman and Alice Mason, who are on a weekend getaway in 1987 to explore an abandoned campground that Roger has just inherited. Along the way they encounter an old beat-up four-wheel drive truck that adds miles of terror to their trip. Is there anyone behind the wheel? Or is it driven by pure evil?
Viewers will just have to wait and find out for themselves once the film gets released later this year on November 12th. The Truck stars John Michael Morris, Rachelle Graber, Tim Emery and Andy Grace and was produced by Riley Hollow Films.

Big Bash League: targeting women and families
Cricket Australia has launched a new campaign to mark the beginning of the KFC T20 Big Bash League.
The campaign, created by Gpy&R Melbourne, aims to be inclusive, targeting women and families with an ad that positions the new league as as much entertainment as sport.
Julian Dunne, senior marketing manager at Cricket Australia said: “The Big Bash League brought cricket to a whole new audience last season. Around 50% of attendees were coming to their first T20 game and over 40 per cent of viewers were female. This year’s campaign continues to target new audiences.”
“The Big Bash League is breathing new energy and excitement into Australian sport, and we needed to make sure we captured this in our communications as we reach out to younger and more technologically-savvy audiences,” Dunne added.

A new three-part online series for Defence Force Recruiting aims to highlight to the public there is more to the Air Force than the pilots.
Created by Gpy&R Melbourne, the ‘Impossible Airfield’ series features 250 troops from less flashy roles within the Air Force, such as plumbers, medics, cooks and logistical personnel, as they’re set a challenge to complete in just 36 hours.
The challenge is for the force to travel to the ‘middle of nowhere’, build a fully operational airfield and land Australia’s largest army aircraft, a C-17 Globemaster in 36 hours.
The episodes contain links within the videos for viewers to learn more about the featured jobs of the troops.
The combined videos are aimed to be both a documentary and interactive recruitment ad.
Chris Northam, Gpy&R’s creative director said: “Impossible Airfield is the biggest, most ambitious project we’ve undertaken for the Defence Force. Watching...
