The Us rights deal for Marc Carrete’s feature directorial debut follows the recent world premiere at Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
Asmodexia stars Luis Marco, Claudia Pons and Irene Montala and tells of an exorcism in Barcelona.
Carreté co-wrote the screenplay with Mike Hostench and served as executive producer. Barcelona-based Ms Entertainment’s Emili Pons, Albert Armengol and Carles Herrera produced with Jordi Bosch.
IFC Midnight struck the deal with Xyz Films’ Nate Bolotin for the filmmakers and plans an autumn theatrical and digital day-and-date release.
Raven Banner Entertainment represents international rights.

There have been a number of demonic pregnancy films released of late. From Hell Baby (2013) to Devil's Due (2014) and even into the upcoming Delivery: The Beast Within (2014), there are enough films out there to excite any pregnancy fears. If these films are not enough, then Marc Carreté's Asmodexia will put you over the edge. A trailer for this film was released earlier in the year. And now, an official movie poster is available for the film (above). All of the publicity material suggests another devil baby being born! The story involves a travelling pastor. Eloy de Palma (Lluís Marco) exorcises the possessed, with his granddaughter Alba (Clàudia Pons). An evil force is spreading around Spain and only Eloy can stand up to this raging malevolence. Possessions increase in number and the Catholic Church is overwhelmed by the requests for exorcisms. Now, evil rules the land and one young woman's infested womb.
