Paul McCartney has been married three times, and John Lennon attended none of his weddings. Lennon died before McCartney’s second two weddings, and The Beatles were at such a low point in their relationships that none had attended McCartney’s first. Still, McCartney took time to bring attention to Lennon during his wedding in 2011. Here’s why McCartney wanted to pay his respects to his late friend.
Paul McCartney honored John Lennon’s birthday at his wedding
In 2011, McCartney married Nancy Shevell, whom he began dating in 2007. This was McCartney’s third marriage; his first wife, Linda McCartney, died in 1998, and he finalized his divorce from his second wife, Heather Mills, in 2008.
The couple wed at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in a small ceremony that included both their families, Ringo Starr and his wife, Barbara Bach, and George Harrison’s widow, Olivia Harrison. After the ceremony, the group...

Paul McCartney’s brother Michael was also a musician, but his career did not reach the same level of success as the Beatle. This couldn’t have been easy, and he began calling himself Michael McGear instead of Michael McCartney. He also denied his relationship with the singer. He told people that he wished he was related to McCartney, because it would mean he had more money.

While growing up, McCartney and Michael were both interested in music. Their father had played in a band, and he passed down his love of music to both his sons. Michael also almost joined The Beatles, but a bit of bad luck meant that the band hired Pete Best instead.

A hopeless songwriter wakes up to find he’s the only person who can remember the Fab Four’s hits in a wacky, winning comedy directed by Danny Boyle
Imagine no Beatles, it’s not easy even if you try. No Yesterday, no Blackbird, no Sgt Pepper ... and then … no Imagine, no all-time best Bond theme (Live and Let Die), no all-time best comedy band name (Ringo Deathstarr), no Concert for Bangladesh to inspire Live Aid, no Withnail & I, no Life of Brian – but then again, no Charles Manson. In a Beatle-less universe, Mike McGear could be Bono’s producer and best mate and Jeff Lynne is president of the world. Screenwriter Richard Curtis’s goofy, wacky, exasperatingly enjoyable fantasy-comedy riffs on ideas like these with a story co-written with Jack Barth – although it turns out TV’s Goodnight Sweetheart got to the idea first. It is directed with dash and gusto by Danny Boyle.

Update: It turns out Sanu will be a Bengal after all. Cincinnati drafted him -- for real this time -- with the 83rd overall pick in the third round.
The first round of the 2012 NFL draft will be an especially memorable one for Mohamed Sanu, but not for the reason he wanted. In fact Sanu wasn't even selected.
The Rutgers wide receiver, who is projected to be a second- or third-round pick, received phone call Thursday (April 26) saying he'd been selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the 27th selection. It turns out that the Bengals had really picked Kevin Zeitler and Sanu had become a victim of a terrible prank.
When Sanu's agent Mike McCartney called the number back, the person on the other end of the line said the whole thing was "just a practical joke," this according to Espn.
"It is unreal that someone would do that, but it happened,...

It was a rock and roll reception for Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell after their Sunday wedding, with a party afterward that included a special song the groom delivered for his bride. "There was a lovely song that our kid did, and they had a lovely dance together," Paul's brother, Mike McCartney, told reporters. "That was a nice little highlight of the evening." The sibling - who served as Paul's best man - spoke outside the house in St. John's Wood where the reception took place, with such guests who include fellow Beatle Ringo Starr, Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, the bride's second cousin Barbara Walters,...

The United Kingdom seems especially adept at producing musical siblings, doesn't it? There have been the Ronsons (DJ Samantha and producer/band frontman Mark) and the McCartneys (Beatle Paul and the Scaffold co-founder Mike, who was known professionally as Mike McGear) as well as the Bedingfields (electronic artist Daniel and singer/songwriter Natasha). But of all those names, only the latter once held the record for highest Billboard album chart debut by a female British artist. On this day in 2008, Natasha Bedingfield's Pocketful of Sunshine entered the U.S. chart at number three, giving her a tie (with Sade, who would later set the new mark when her 2010 album Soldier of Love debuted at number one) for said record.
