- Marcel Merminod was born on April 16, 1893 in Lausanne, Switzerland. He was an actor, known for A Certain Mr. Gran (1933), The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933) and The Threepenny Opera (1931). He died on May 31, 1979 in Lausanne, Switzerland.
- When the National Socialist came into power in Germany Marcel Merminod went to Switzerland where he also took part in few movies.
- It followed a long interruption before he continued his cinematical career. In 1970 he impersonated his last movie role as Emile Blummer in "Black Out" (1970) which was entered into the 20th Berlin International Film Festival.
- The actor Marcel Merminod began his film career in 1930 in Germany. To his first movies belong "Der Sohn der weissen Berge" (1930) with Luis Trenker, Carl Froelich's "Brand in der Oper" (1930) with Gustav Fröhlich and Gustaf Gründgens, "Grock" (1931) directed by Carl Boese, and "Die Koffer des Herrn O.F." (1931) with Peter Lorre, Alfred Abel and Hedy Lamarr.
- In 1938, he joined Radio-Lausanne as a director of dramatic programs. And a few years later, he would become the director of that radio, one of the entities that would merge in 1974 to become the Radio Suisse Romande.
