During a rehearsal of the "Sherlock Holmes" radio program, Merrill--a bachelor--announced a secret: he had two daughters. After his desired effect was achieved, he told of having adopted two girls, six months and 3-1/2 months old respectively.
Louis Merrill appeared in scores of programs from radio's "Golden Age", such as "Lights Out", "Suspense", and the "Lux Radio Theater." Mr. Merrill could play everything from heavies to comic roles, and excelled at dialects.
