- Carlo Montuori was born on August 3, 1885 in Casacalenda, Molise, Italy. He was a cinematographer and director, known for Bicycle Thieves (1948), The Roof (1956) and L'uomo dall'artiglio (1931). He died on March 4, 1968 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.

- His father was a School principal and his mother an elementary School teacher. He had eleven brothers. At the age of twelve he moved to Milan, to the house of an uncle painter and photographer and attended the Accademia of Brera.
