- Tim Murton grew up in the UK with a passion for art. Before emigrating to Canada in 1974 Tim earned a BSc in construction technology at Portsmouth Polytechnic. He initially worked as a construction estimator in the mining engineering field. At 29 he enrolled at the Ontario College of Art to pursue a financially challenging, but immensely rewarding artistic career. During his third and final year he studied in Florence Italy and then independently in Paris France. Returning to Canada Tim started a new career initially painting sets for TV commercials, then as a scenic artist in Toronto's booming film industry. Tim rose through the ranks and eventually accumulated credits on 40 feature films. (A selection of which are mentioned here) A full resume can be found here.
In 2004 Tim retired from the film business to pursue his life long ambition to be an independent fine artist.
