For the first time since they shared the screen on NBC hospital drama “ER,” Eriq La Salle and Gloria Reuben are teaming up as co-stars. The two star in Hallmark’s “A Second Chance at Love,” alongside Alvina August and Jarod Joseph, Hallmark announced Wednesday.
The actors will play divorced parents Jack (La Salle) and Brenda (Reuben) to daughter Alicia (August), and in-laws to Alicia’s husband, Arnold (Joseph). According to a logline from Hallmark, the younger couple’s marriage is “picture perfect, however, there is something amiss.” While Arnold is ready to expand their brood, Alicia has been hesitant. “Rather than face the problem head on, Alicia, the self-proclaimed ‘love doctor,’ immerses herself in her divorced parents Jack (La Salle) and Brenda’s (Reuben) dating affairs by setting them each up on a blind date dating app,” per the network.

Sometimes, you're right where you need to be with your television viewing.
For me, that means that I've been watching Gloria Reuben and Eriq La Salle nightly with my rewatch of NBC's ER.
Now, Hallmark is offering something completely different as Reuben and La Salle reconnect for A Second Chance at Love, airing on Saturday, March 26 on Hallmark Channel.
For those of you who watched ER, you know that La Salle played resident and surgeon Peter Benton, who wasn't always beloved by his coworkers.
Reuben's Jeanie Boulet, a married Pa, fell for Peter, and the two had a torrid affair in which she broke his heart.
A Second Chance at Love might not give Peter and Jeanie a second chance, but now, decades later, Rueben and La Salle will be sharing the screen once again with a story about reigniting old passions.

In A Second Chance At Love, on the surface, Alicia (August) and Arnold’s (Joseph) marriage is picture perfect, however, there is something amiss. Arnold is ready to grow their family, but subconsciously Alicia is hesitant to the idea. Rather than face the problem head on, Alicia, the self-proclaimed “love doctor,” immerses herself in her divorced parents Jack (La Salle) and Brenda’s (Reuben) dating affairs by setting them each up on a blind date dating app.

Fans of the western genre will no doubt be familiar with The Virginian, either as Owen Wister.s original 1902 novel . the first true western novel written . or for the numerous adaptations over the years. Though the TV series version ran for nine years and expanded on the fiction of the novel, Victor Fleming.s 1929 classic, starring Gary Cooper, remains arguably the most fondly remembered of the cinematic renderings. Nasser Group North, an offshoot of the production company run by brothers Jack and Joe Nasser, will be sticking to Wister and Fleming.s respective visions when bringing about their own adaptation of The Virginian to the big screen. Variety reports the film will star all-around badass Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and country music star Trace Adkins (The Lincoln Lawyer). Thomas Makowski, who is best known for work on America.s Most Wanted, will direct the feature, and he.ll be using a...

Ron Perlman plays a tough, saddle-happy gang type in TV’s Sons Of Anarchy, but he’ll be swapping bikes for horses for a new take on Owen Wister’s Western novel The Virginian, which will also star country singer-turned-actor Trace Adkins. If the title sounds familiar, it’s because the book has been adapted for the screen several times since it was first published back in 1902. The most famous versions have included the 1929 Gary Cooper film and the long-running TV series, which was aired on NBC from 1962 until 1971.Adkins will play the enforcer for a cattle baron (Perlman), who digs into a cattle-rustling problem afflicting the local community and finds more than he bargained for.Producers Jack and Joseph Nasser are backing this one, with Thomas Makowski directing from Bob Thiekle’s script. Shooting kicks off this week in Vancouver.Perlman will make his traditional appearance in Guillermo del Toro’s latest,...

While undercut by his intent to show studio execs his ability to keep budgets under control above all else, Orson Welles' 1946 thriller “The Stranger” remains quite a taut and entertaining genre entry. Starring Welles himself alongside Edward G. Robinson and Loretta Young, at no point does the film reach the heights of other works like “Touch of Evil” (which Dp Russell Metty also shot), instead going for a more staid brand of Wellesian tomfoolery, but now it's been revealed that another genre director will attempt his own route with an update of the material. Jack and Joseph Nasser's company Ngn Releasing have announced a remake of the Welles-directed flick, and have brought on a well-versed champion of the genre, Joseph Ruben (“Sleeping With The Enemy”) to helm it as well. Screenwriter Alanna Belak wrote the script for the new offering, which will retain the original film's central narrative -- itself a reworking of.

Knockout Directed by: Anne Wheeler Written by: Joseph Nasser Starring: Steve Austin, Daniel Magder and Jaren Brandt Bartlett Remember when Superbad came out and there was discussion about whether or not high school kids actually talked with such aggressive swearing? Well, here's the other side of that debate, a modern high school movie where the best taunt the kids can come up with is, “bird brain.” For the record, kids don't talk like that either. Surrounding that tepid dialogue are sub-par performances and an all too familiar narrative, that of the picked on new kid who trains in a sport in order to take on his oppressor. Knockout even makes reference to The Karate Kid, and it should. In fact, Knockout should be bowing down to its all mighty master and inspiration, since aside from boxing, this might as well be the same movie. Well, that and the Mr. Miyagi...
