Peter Fonda is set to thrill fans of his landmark Easy Rider movie - by selling off memorabilia he kept from the 1969 classic. Fonda, who produced, co-wrote and starred as Captain America in the iconic biker road movie, has teamed up with the Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas, Texas to sell off his keepsakes. Doug Norwine, the director of music and entertainment memorabilia at the auction house, says, "He just decided it was time to share some of his treasures with collectors and fans." Two diaries written by tragic model Anna Nicole Smith failed to sell at auction in Texas on Saturday. An unnamed German businessman purchased the diaries and other mementos during an eBay internet auction earlier this year for $500,000 and decided to re-sell them at the Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas in the hope of making a profit. After the books failed to attract any bids, Heritage Auction Galleries put them up for sale for a minimum bid of $25,000. Doug Norwine, the director of music and entertainment memorabilia at Heritage, says, "We have a buy-it-now situation." Smith's partner Howard K. Stern's lawyer wrote a letter to the auction house last week, claiming the diaries were stolen property and insisted they should be returned to the beauty's estate. The diaries were written between 1992 and 1994, and cover Smith's marriage to oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall II. Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in a Florida hotel room in February.

Anna Nicole Smith's diaries will still go on sale despite her ex-lover Howard K. Stern insisting they are stolen property. An unnamed buyer purchased the diaries and other mementos during an eBay Internet auction earlier this year for $500,000 - and is convinced they can turn the acquisition into a profit by re-selling the items in Dallas, Texas - Smith's native state - this weekend. However, in a letter to Doug Norwine, the director of music and entertainment memorabilia at Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, an attorney for Stern claimed the diaries belong to his client and that they were stolen. But Norwine insists the auction will go ahead, saying, "In the absence of a judge stopping this auction, this auction will go forward. After the auction we'll determine what happens. We will continue to take the high road." The journals feature Smith's recollections of her first meetings with bosses at Guess Jeans, where she signed her first major contract, and expressions of love towards her then-husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, who died in 1995.
