- Joseph Offenbach was born on December 28, 1904 in Offenbach am Main, Hesse, Germany. He was an actor, known for Das Mädchen vom Moorhof (1958), Salto mortale (1969) and The Captain from Köpenick (1956). He was married to Maria Eckerlein. He died on October 15, 1971 in Darmstadt, Hesse, West Germany.

- As three other actors at the Nationaltheater Mannheim had the surname Ziegler, he was forced to choose a stage name and called himself Offenbach (1931).
