- Maria Olguim was born on April 26, 1898 in Castelo Branco, Portugal. She was an actress, known for Viela, Rua Sem Sol (1947), Madragoa (1952) and Saltimbancos (1951). She died on January 1, 1984 in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
- Served as a nurse during World War I.
- Maria Olguim starred in some of the most successful Portuguese movies: she was a familiar face in the "Golden Age" of the Portuguese cinema in the 1940's and was one of the few of them who reached its new era started in the 1980's, with her last role in "Manhã Submersa", after a 56 years career.
- Started her career as an amateur stage actress in Figueira da Foz.
- Awarded with the "Grau de Oficial da Ordem do Mérito" by the Portuguese Government in 1973.
- Figueira da Foz Municipality payed a homage to her in 1982.
