Cristina Palacio is an acclaimed TV and film producer, writer, and director. She is considered one of Latin America's foremost reality TV showrunners, having produced international formats such as "MasterChef", "Survivor", "The Masked Singer", and "Who wants to be a Millionaire?", as well as creating original competition shows like "Reto 4 Elementos" in Mexico and Colombia.
In the early 2000s, Palacio was at the vanguard of creating the new genre of drug crime scripted series, a topic she's been fascinated with ever since she exchanged personal letters with the infamous drug lord Pablo Escobar while he was in prison. She executive produced a number of award winning series such as "Sin Tetas no hay Paraíso", "Muñecas de la Mafia", and "El Cartel de los Sapos" (global winner of the 2008 International Format Awards for Best Scripted Series), as well as the feature film "Tuya, mía... te la apuesto."
Palacio is the founder and current CEO of Alibi Films. Previously she was President of Shine Latino in Miami, President of BE-TV Producciones, and Head of Content and Production at a number of TV networks. Born in Bogota, Colombia, she studied journalism at the Javeriana University, and subsequently earned her master's in filmmaking and screenwriting at The New School in New York City.
