Teresa attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She was hired
as a member of the Second City Toronto right out of school and spent
four years with the company where she wrote and performed in several
ground breaking shows. She has written three plays, one of which was
performed at the New York Fringe Festival in 1999.
She is part of the all female sketch comedy troupe, Women Fully Clothed. She was the star,
writer and an executive producer of the half hour comedy, The Jane
Show, based on a character that she created. She has appeared in numerous TV series as well as having
written for shows like Schitt's Creek and The Ron James Show.
She was an adopted child and only recently found her birth mother.
During her early time at the Second City she was nervous and spent most
of her time 'literally holding up the back wall', but soon the director
at the time told her that if she didn't start doing something funny,
she'd be fired.
She was nominated for female comedian of the year at the 2001 Canadian
Comedy Awards.
