Mitch Pileggi was born on April 5, 1952 in Portland, Oregon, USA. He is an actor, known for Basic Instinct (1992), The X-Files (1993) and The X Files: I Want to Believe (2008). He has been married to Arlene Warren since January 1, 1997. They have one child. He was previously married to Debbie Andrews.

Daughter Sawyer Scout Pileggi was born May 24, 1998.
His paternal grandfather was of Italian descent. The rest of his ancestry is English, Scottish, and German.
Pileggi and his wife second wife, Arlene, wed in Hawaii during Christmas Break 1996. David Duchovny was Pileggi's best man.
In real life, Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) met his wife Arlene Warren on the set of The X-Files (1993) while she was stand-in to Gillian Anderson (Scully). In later episodes, Warren got some screen time--as Skinner's secretary, named Arlene.
Besides David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, he is the only other actor to appear in The X-Files (1993), The X Files (1998) and The X Files: I Want to Believe (2008).
Pileggi was working as a defense contractor in Isfahan, Iran, about two weeks before Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was deposed, in 1979. Due to strained relations between Iran and the United States, the company he worked for was evacuating the employees on a Pan American flight. Pileggi said in a 2008 radio interview that for some reason, possibly for a supernormal reason, he booked his own flight with Swiss Air, on the plane that would be the last out of the country for many days. They were supposed to land in Baghdad, Iraq, but a thunderstorm prevented any landings, so the pilot flew them to Athens, Greece. Pileggi said, "I think we got there on fumes.".
Can speak German, as a consequence of growing up in Germany for a while as an "army brat".
Appeared in the original TV series "Dallas" (1978) and the 2012 continuation of "Dallas". He plays a different, unrelated character in each one.
Will begin a reccuring role as Colonel Caldwell on the Sci-Fi series Stargate: Atlantis (2004). [March 2005]
He began acting while he was a high school student in Turkey, playing musical theater.
Appeared in the play "Frankie and Johnny in The Clair De Lune," in Austin, Texas at Zachary Scott Theatre. The play was controversial at the time as the actors were nude throughout the production.
