With a career spanning over fifteen years, Marisa Polvino is a seasoned
producer with a proven skill for identifying, packaging, and producing
high quality, star driven entertainment across all mediums, genres, and
budget levels. With her producing partner Kate Cohen, she formed
Straight Up Films in 2008, and since then has been integral in growing
the company and securing its first rate film slate. These include
'Transcendence', directed by Academy Award Winner, Wally Pfister,
starring Johnny Depp, Morgan Freeman, and Rebecca Hall, and 'Jane Got a
Gun', directed by Gavin O'Connor, starring Natalie Portman, Joel
Edgerton, and Ewan McGregor. Alongside Eddy Moretti of Vice Media, she
is producer on the documentary 'Shot: The Mick Rock Documentary'. With
an unusual blend of financial management skills, high-level
international relationships, and strong sales skills, Marisa has
continually proven to be a true industry innovator and leader. She has
a proven track record with budget and P&L management; branding, PR, and
cross-media promotion; and financing and investor relations. In her
previous positions at Revere Pictures and Eagle Beach Productions,
Marisa secured multi-million dollar financing deals from angel
investors, hedge funds, and sophisticated wealth managers. During this
time she produced 'Outside Providence', starring Alec Baldwin, 'I'll
Sleep When I'm Dead', starring Clive Owen and Johnathan Rhys Meyers,
'American Buffalo', starring Dustin Hoffman, 'The Education of Charlie
Banks', starring Jesse Eisenberg, and the multiple award-winning 'The
Door in the Floor', starring Jeff Bridges and Kim Basinger. In January
2013, Marisa led Straight Up Films to launch the commercial production
division Disorderly Conduct, with Ron Cicero as Executive Producer. The
company currently represents directors Brett Foraker, Luis Gerard, Jan
Wentz, Daniel Levi, Eric Stoltz, and Francesco Calabrese.
