Pran Kishan Sikand
Pran Kishan Sikand dreamt of becoming a professional photographer. Little did he know that a measly, humble ‘paan’ (betel leaf) would change his life and set him on his destined path. It was 1939 or thereabouts. Pran was at a ‘paan’ shop at Lahore, enjoying a munch with his friends when a stranger approached him and asked whether he wanted to act in films. Pran was amused and asked his name. Stranger introduced himself as Muhammad Walli, a renowned film maker in the flourishing film district of Lahore. He said he was making a Punjabi film and Pran looked a perfect fit for the role of a villain in the film. Pran just brushed him off. Walli kept insisting that he pay a visit to the studio, and pushed a piece of paper with his address into Pran’s hands. The film was Yamla Jat (1940), a runaway hit that year.

Priya Kataria Puri's fashion show launched the Chennai International Fashion Show with a theme entitled Cruise Connection - and it was Koena Mitra who stole the show with a golden semi-transparent dress. Neetu Chandra, Yuva and Meera Chopra cheered on from the audience.
This is the first ever international fashion show in Chennai with global reach and as well as Koena, it also features Genelia D'Souza who will walk for Ishita and the new Miss Sri Lanka Anarkali Akarsha who will parade for Yolanda. Namitha and Neil Nitin Mukesh will close the final show for Sidney Sladen. Alecia Raut and Sushmita Sen are also expected to make an appearance during the week.
Meanwhile, Koena appears to have been working on her appearance once again - doesn't she realise she already falls into the perfect category? Having been disappointed by her rhinoplasty, she is now concentrating on making her eyes look more alluring.
