- Studied acting in Berlin and made her theatrical debut at the Boulevardtheater in 1961. Her casting in That Woman (1966) led to an appearance in a leading role in the spy thriller Funeral in Berlin (1966). The following year, she married one of the the stars, the actor Paul Hubschmid (divorced 1983). She acted in several international productions during the 1970's. Her career petered out in the 80's, except for a few guest roles on television.
- Renzi has the distinction of being the only actress that James Garner publicly dismissed. In an interview from May 1994, Garner said about The Pink Jungle (1968): "I was told I'd get MacLaine, but they got some girl that somebody at the studio liked, but she hadn't done hardly any work at all. She was a nasty German bitch named Eva Renzi-we called her Eva Nazi.".
- Attracted publicity in the 1970s when she reported about her negative experiences with the Osho-Rajneesh movement during a journey in India.
- Was the daughter of a Danish industrialist and a French mother. She grew up as an orphan from 1947 and was educated at convent schools.
- Four of her directors, Will Tremper, Don Sharp, Delbert Mann and Guy Hamilton, called her the most difficult actress they had ever worked with, but all praised her for her talent, her screen presence and her undeniable beauty.
- She rejected Universal's offer to play the female lead in House of Cards (1968) because her husband hated the script and was jealous of her working with Orson Welles. Coincidentally, Renzi was pregnant at the time and had to drop out of the movie anyway. (She later miscarried.) Inger Stevens took over the role.

- While appearing in one of his shows in 1966, she told an irritated Bob Hope backstage that she thought he was a less-than-average performer.
- She turned down the female lead in Double Murder (1977) that later went to Agostina Belli. She sent the script back to writer-director Steno with only one line written on the front page: "How dare you?".
