"You want to condemn him?" XYZ Films has revealed the first look teaser trailer for an Argentinian horror film called Deus Irae, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Pedro Cristiani. He is adapting his own 2010 short film about a "secret order of evil-fighting priests" called the Deus Irae, who "protect the frail boundaries which separate this world from the mystical realm of darkness." One of the most acclaimed horror films this year is another Argentinian creation called When Evil Lurks - lots of great horror coming out of Argentina these days. Premiering soon at Argentina's Mar Del Plata Film Festival, Deus Irae follows Father Javier, who is part of the trio of excommunicated priests who hunt the possessed to exorcize them under their own terms: with Bibles, fire and shotguns. "Pedro is an immense talent and Deus Irae is a totally unique work." Starring Pablo Ragoni, Gastón Ricaud, and Sabrina Macchi.
