- Ruth Roberts was born on August 31, 1926 in Port Chester, New York, USA. She is known for Yes Man (2008), The Benchwarmers (2006) and A Dirty Shame (2004). She died on June 30, 2011 in Rye Brook, New York, USA.
- She is best remembered for writing the New York Mets theme song, "Meet the Mets," in collaboration with Bill Katz. She also wrote "Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues," originally recorded by Buddy Holly. A version of this song, recorded by the Beatles during a session for their "Let It Be" album, appears on the Beatles Anthology 3.
