Former Fleet Street and Toronto Journalist for the Canadian Press. Later joined C.B.C there and began writing lyrics and libretto. First musical production: "A Ballad for Billy" at the Museum Theatre in Toronto. In Montreal met and collaborated with Galt MacDermot, who later went on to compose the music for "Hair".
Returned to London with Galt to break into the sixties British pop scene: since then wrote songs for Matt Monro, Dusty Springfield, Cleo Lane, Georgie Fame, Long John Baldry and innumerable others.
Film title lyrics: "Entertaining Mr Sloane" and "Goodbye Gemini"
TV Titlers include: "Yes Honestly", "Through the Looking Glass", "The Long Chase" and "Going A Bundle".
Musical productions in London include: "Illuminatus!" at the National Theatre, "Jam" at Gullivers; "Greasy Spoon" and "Would you like to be an Angel?" at the Bush and "We'd Be Better Off In Russia--Wouldn't We?"
