Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are excited for this weeks releases because it has one of my fave shows in it!
Dexter: Season 4
Miami forensics specialist Dexter Morgan (Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall) has been so successful at keeping his secret life as a serial killer under wraps that no one -- not even his newly minted wife, Rita (Julie Benz) -- knows about his extracurricular activities. Dexter continues to count on the fact that nobody suspects him of murder. And then he commits it with reckless abandon. John Lithgow joins the fourth season in a Golden Globe-winning role.
Cast: Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter
Love this show! Don't want it to be over after next season. Michael C. Hall is a amazing actor. This show is original, smart, well written and well acted. If you have not gotten a chance to watch it you should.

What has happened to Brendan Fraser, and could Furry Vengeance be the worst film that he's ever made?
There are a few questions in life to which there are no real answers. Why is the sky blue? Why is Justin Bieber always a trending topic on Twitter? And what on earth has happened to Brendan Fraser's career?
The first two we may never get a real answer for, but the last one is plain and simple. He makes and produces movies like Furry Vengeance, which is about to hit your local multiplex. A slapstick kids comedy without the comedy, Furry Vengeance is the sort of film you wonder how it managed to get itself greenlit and onto the cinema screen, but yet here it is.

Matt Prokop has praised his Furry Vengeance co-star Brendan Fraser for being willing to make a fool of himself in order to get a laugh. Prokop, who plays the son of Fraser's property developer Dan Sanders, told Digital Spy that his fellow cast member was not afraid to risk embarrassment when making the family comedy. He said: "Brendan has no boundaries. He's always willing to get a laugh. He has to wear a pink 'Yum Yum' jumpsuit that does not fit him at all. He spent the whole day wearing it - showing off and doing little dance moves. Brendan's always (more)...

A few months ago, we discussed Brendan Fraser's inherent ability to react to CGI-accentuated figments of his imagination. Interestingly, Fraser has actually improved upon this talent but now gamely abandons all pride in what amounts to a most shameful entry into the already inauspicious (and entirely non-official) "rodents of doom" subgenre (see also Alvin and the Motherfucking Chipmunks and G-Force) of live-action/CGI family-friendly flicks. Furry Vengeance comes from the do-gooders at Participant Media, the makers of Food, Inc. and The Cove, who are ill-equipped in the art of narrative framework but have plenty of righteous indignation with which to justify their endless montage. Unfortunately, the movie's message never comes through and is buried under a mountain of sadistic pratfalls and humiliations for its lead actor. Yet, in its own strange, surrealistic sort of way, Furry Vengeance results in the slightest bit of voyeuristic pleasure since I, too, would...

The film has two types of audiences in mind: undiscriminating fans of run-of-the-mill slapstick and small children who demand slaphappy violence. Writers Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert, together with director Roger Kumble, have conceived of an "eco-conscious" comedy, and, indeed, everything about "Furry Vengeance" has a recycled whiff about it — so recycled that each scene, each gag, each of Brendan Fraser's pained facial expressions feel tired, overworked, derivative and, worst of all, grossly, painfully unfunny.
The movie's environmental premise pits the woodland residents of a pristine forest against developers keen to raze the trees and build tracts of suburban housing in their place. Brendan Fraser plays Dan Sanders, the perky overseer of the housing development, a company man eager to please his weasel of a boss, Neal Lyman (Ken Jeong). Before long, though, he's also feeling heat from a particularly wily and persistent raccoon and his furry forest cohabitants...

Director: Roger Kumble Writer(s): Michael Cames, Josh Gilbert Starring: Brendan Fraser, Brooke Shields, Matt Prokop Dan Sanders (Brendan Fraser) is a real estate developer relocated for one year to the Oregon wilderness by his employer, the Lyman Corporation, a supposedly green company building a new subdivision in an sleepy town. Dan has completely bought into the green vibe of his employer, and believes he is doing some good for these country folk, but the animals that inhabit the forest know better. In fact, Neal Lyman, head of Lyman Industries, is planning a much bigger project that involves decimating the habitat of the little critters dwelling happily in the forest. The animals go helter skelter on Dan, and the torture and humiliating ensues with Dan bearing the full brunt of their animal wrath. Dan takes all that the animals can dish out and plays dumb through virtually the entire...

Furry Vengeance
Directed by: Roger Kumble
Cast: Brendan Fraser, Brooke Shields, Matt Prokop, Ken Jeong
Running Time: 1 hr 30 mins
Rating: PG
Release Date: April 30, 2010
Plot: Dan Sanders (Fraser) is overseeing a new development in the middle of a forest, but besides the typical setbacks, he also has to deal with a pack of vengeful woodland creatures led by a malevolent raccoon.
Who’S It For? Young children with low expectations.
Expectations: The preview, featuring a shot of Fraser dancing with a couple of raccoons, was horrifying to watch so, though I hoped it wouldn’t be that awful, I wasn’t betting.
Scorecard (0-10)
Actors:
Brendan Fraser as Dan Sanders: I like Brendan Fraser, even though I don’t always like his choice in movies. He’s generally charming and he can be a good actor when he tries (Gods and Monsters, School Ties). Unfortunately, I think he was...

Brendan Fraser in "Furry Vengeance"

I can't speak for little kids, of course, but it's hard to imagine their pet grownups sitting through "Furry Vengeance" without a mad gnashing of teeth and squirming dismay. The movie is both slack and dumb — a trying combo — and it's heavily burdened with a big green message. (The production company, Participant Media, is also launching an earnest new eco-documentary called "Climate of Change" at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.)
Brendan Fraser runs through an alarmingly extensive repertoire of low-comic muggery — face-scrunches, eye-rolls and general dingbat gibbering — as Dan Sanders, a real-estate exec who has relocated with his wife and son (Brooke Shields and Matt Prokop) to a sylvan outback in rural Massachusetts to oversee the construction of a large housing development. This will of course entail massive despoliation of the woodsy environment, and the local wildlife...

So Dr. Doolittle 4, wait...Furry Vengeance was an interesting movie. And yes, there is a Dr. Doolittle 3 that found the DVD shelves. Furry went with the formula of having live actors and animals interacting with each other. It wasn't a CGI-fest, with regards to the animals that run all over the flick. If anything, the studio should have CGI'd the actors. What one is getting is 92 minutes of skunk jokes that stink.
Loyal real-estate/project manager Dan Sanders (Brendan Fraser) uproots his family from Chicago and sticks them in a forest, as the developing company he works for is building in a new area. His boss Mr. Lyman (Ken Jeong), who is also the only funny human in the flick, wants Dan to take down the whole forest to build a major neighborhood. Yet they market themselves as a green company. Okay, let me first say that "Furry Vengeance" is tailor-made for kids and adults who love cheap laughs about animals with vendetta. And the reason why I'm recommending the film, is because of star Brendan Fraser, who's game to have fun receiving the brunt of the animals' anger.
It's a fun family film with an environmental message. Go green indeed!
So here are my interviews with the cast including Fraser, Brooke Shield, and "The Office's" Angela Kinsey.

The always manic but sweet Brendan Fraser is the lead actor in "Furry Vengeance." He plays the role of Dan Sanders, a city father who moves his family to the forest!
This is the third time I've interviewed the actor -- and he's funny as always!
In this interview, we talked about his role, working as both the executive producer and actor, the horror angle of the film ("Long Weekend...

In recent years, we've had Happy Feet, The Day After Tomorrow, Over the Hedge, Wall-e, The Road and Avatar to name just a few of the more high-profiles examples. Furry Vengeance is an "eco-comedy" starring Brooke Shields and Brendan Fraser. Here's the official plot summary:
For Mother Nature, revenge is a dish best served … furry! In this hilarious family comedy with a message, greedy developers try to pave over paradise and unwittingly launch a sidesplitting battle between man and nature. Brendan Fraser has revealed that he put on weight for his part in eco-comedy Furry Vengeance. The actor told Parade that he needed a bigger bottom for the role of real estate developer Dan Sanders to survive the action sequences. Fraser said: "I needed a bigger butt on account of there was going be a lot of physical comedy. I get thrown around a lot in the movie. But let's just face it, it's funny. Kids love it. Adults love it. "They're like, 'Ha-ha, (more)...

Fun for Wednesdays! We look at an image from an upcoming movie or TV show and write snarky, witty, or otherwise entertaining captions for it. No prizes, it’s just for fun. “I told them no hazelnut! I swear that barista hates me”: Summit Entertainment tells us about the movie: Furry Vengeance is a live action family comedy in which an ambitious young real estate developer, Dan Sanders, faces off with a band of angry animals when his new housing subdivision pushes too far into a pristine part of the wilderness. Led by an incredibly clever raccoon, the animals stymie the development and teach our hero about the environmental consequences of man’s encroachment on nature. Also: The raccoon farts in Brendan Fraser’s face. It’s awesome.

The animals are back haunting Brendan Fraser's life in some new TV spots from "Furry Vengeance". Titled "Funky", one of the videos sees the actor upset when the animals "hijack" his house before he dances alongside them in the end of the snippet.
The other TV spot called "Attention", meanwhile, mostly features the scenes which have been previewed in the previously released trailer. However, a bit of fresh footage can been seen toward the end of the new video.
