★★☆☆☆ The Secret Laughter of Women (1999) is the first and only film to date from director Peter Schwabach and stars Colin Firth and Nia Long (known now as the voice of Roberta Stubbs in Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show). This light-hearted romantic comedy set amongst a Nigerian community in southern France is a somewhat dull example of its genre offering the viewer very little to enjoy.
