Moviegoers are often asked to suspend their disbelief. In 2012 alone, we experienced a world in which a young Indian boy finds a mysterious killer island full of meerkats. Audiences also reveled in Rian Johnson’s story about future mobsters who send their victims back in time to be killed. But perhaps most incredulously, we were asked in Paul Thomas Anderson’s most recent enigmatic wonder to believe a dude like Philip Seymour Hoffman could score a babe like Amy Adams.
This trend in TV and films is by no means new; from Fred Flinstone to Kevin James’ King of Queens marrying Leah Remini, our goofy, nerdy, overweight and even downright hideous on-screen heroes perpetually seem to be able to nab even the foxiest of leading ladies. And as a skinny half-Asian nerd a few months shy of marrying a Cuban girl who’s a doctor, I applaud these men. But when it happens in movies,...

According to E! and Ain’t It Cool News, Judd Apatow’s next film as director will reunite Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd as their Debbie and Pete characters from 2007′s Knocked Up. In that film ( Apatow’s second feature between The 40 Year Old Virgin and Funny People), they were the sister and brother-in-law of Katherine Heigl’s character Alison Scott. It’s not known whether Heigl or Seth Rogan ( character Ben Stone) will reprise their roles in the new feature. When asked by Hitfix if the new film was a sequel or prequel, Apatow said that this was just a story from Pete and Debbie’s current life. No word on whether Apatow and Mann’s two real-life daughters were return as the couple’s kids. Universal Entertainment hopes that filming will begin toward the end of this year with a possible release date of June 1, 2012.

Actress Anne Hathaway turned down the lead role in romantic comedy Knocked Up because she deemed the movie "too radical", according to the film's star Katherine Heigl.
The Grey's Anatomy beauty landed the role of Alison Scott opposite Seth Rogen after Hathaway, who was the original choice of director Judd Apatow, refused to take the part.
But Heigl was only too happy to be cast - and was even delighted when audiences were shocked by graphic footage of a baby's head crowning during the movie's birthing scene.
The 30-year-old says, "I think Anne found the film a little too radical especially with the shot at the end!
"Seeing a baby's head poking through was a little strong but the reaction of the audience at that point was so extreme. They just screamed - especially the men!"...
