Gurugram, Nov 25 (Ians) With five players producing par or better on the final while winning the title in their age category, the US Kids Golf Indian Championship provided some high-quality golf at the Classic Golf and Country Club, here on Friday.
Ishan Ahuja (Boys 15-18), Adit Veeramachaneni (Boys 9) and Kabir Goyal (Boys 7 and under) produced one-under rounds as did Lavanya Gupta (Girls 15-18). Pritish Singh Karayat overcame the slow first round of 76 with 70-72 on the final two days to beat back a strong field in Boys 13-14.
Four other winners, Rabab Kahlon (Girls 9-10), a less-than-fully fit Mahreen Bhatia (Girls 13-14), Chaitanya Pandey (Boys 11) and Kartik Singh (Boys 12) turned in cards of 1-over 73 each to emerge toppers in their respective age groups.

Gurugram, Oct 9 (Ians) Mahreen Bhatia, who had a great run last season, won her second straight title in the 2022-23 season of the U.S Kids Golf India Series at the Classic Golf and Country Resort this week. She was one of the three girls who won both the events held this week as Shambhavi Chaturvedi returned to winning ways in Girls 11-12.
Amaira Gupta won both times in the Girls Under-6 and Aarushi Chawhan stayed a winner in Girls 15-18.
The competition for boys saw six repeat winners. The younger age groups saw Nihal Cheema (U-6), Kabir Goyal (U-7) and Jot Sarup (U-8) turn in consistent rounds to win a second time.

It was a sombre occasion, a memorial meeting to remember a veteran filmmaker who was no more. And yet, speaker after speaker made references to the sense of humour that Mani Kaul possessed, and related jokes he used to tell, sometimes at his own expense.
And quite unlike a memorial meeting, it did spark some laughter now and then as jokes or anecdotes were told about the man who was vibrant and lively all his life despite his illness.
The memorial meeting was organized on July 9 by the Osian’s Connoisseurs of Art, where he had served as Director of the Osian’s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in 2009 and was Creative Director of its Film House.
