Stuart Simpson(I)
- Director
- Writer
- Producer
Stuart studied at NMIT in Melbourne and worked at the ABCTV through the camera dept and finally working as studio director. His passion for film began at an early age, making films with friends using Dad's VHS camcorder and editing on their VCR player. About his last feature film, 'Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla', Simon Foster (Screen Space) wrote "...[the film] further establishes Simpson as one of Australia's most inventive and assured genre filmmakers, his third feature a bracingly original and thoroughly macabre vision that is hard to shake..... [he] is far too talented a filmmaker to be contained by the underground; one day, these early efforts will be looked back upon in much the same way that fans now regard Peter Jackson's Brain Dead or George Miller's Mad Max - a work that defies its low-budget status with superbly crafted visuals and expertly-paced storytelling".
