Chicago – Lionsgate and After Dark Films’ recently released their third collection of “8 Films to Die For” and this year proved to be the most uninspiring octet to date. With fewer risks taken than the last two years and less extreme failures or successes, “After Dark Horrorfest III” is terrifyingly dull.
Overall DVD Rating: 2.0/5.0 What makes this year’s collection rather forgettable is the lack of extremes on either side of the rating spectrum. The first two years produced some truly excellent genre gems including “Borderland,” “The Hamiltons,” and “The Abandoned.” At the same time, movies like “Dead Lake,” “Undead,” and “Nightmare Man” should be buried in a deep hole and never see the light of day again.
I have to admit that I liked the variety in quality of the last two years more than this year, when nearly every film registered as forgettable more than good or bad. There was one notable standout,...

After Dark Films recently released this new movie trailer for the upcoming film “Butterfly Effect: Revelation” aka Butterfly Effect 3 by director Seth Grossman (The Elephant King, Shock Act) and starring Rachel Miner (Californication, Truckstop), Chris Carmack (Into the Blue 2) and Daniel Spink (Fanboys, The Butterfly Effect). The trailer for The Butterfly Effect: Revelation, the third flick in the time-travel series, is now online. Before heading to DVD later next year, Revelation will briefly hit theaters as part of the After Dark Horrorfest on January 9. It stars Chris Carmack, Rachel Miner, Melissa Jones and Daniel Spink. In the movie, directed by Seth Grossman, s young man discovers he has inherited the powers of “The Butterfly Effect" and attempts to solve the mystery of his high school girlfriend's death using his newfound ability, only to unwittingly unleash a vicious serial killer.

Butterfly Effect: Revelation - the third film in the series that was launched in 2004 - gets an original score by Hungarian composer Adam Balazs. The film opens theatrically in the Us on January 9 as a part of the After Dark Horrorfest (also known as "8 Films to Die For") and tells the story about a young man who uses his power to time travel in order to solve the mystery of his girlfriend's death. Rachel Miner, Chris Carmack and Daniel Spink star in the film which is directed by Seth Grossman, for whom Balazs previously scored The Elephant King. The two first Butterfly Effect films carried scores composed by Michael Suby.

Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell, Lou Taylor Pucci and John Hensley will star in Fifty Pills for first-time director Theo Avgerinos and Coalition Film, the newly formed independent production and sales company founded by writer-producer Matthew Perniciaro. The film follows college student Darren Giles (Pucci) who, after losing his scholarship, must sell 50 Ecstasy pills in a day in order to make his tuition payment so that he can stay with his girlfriend (Bell). Hensley plays Pucci's metrosexual roommate who supplies the drugs. Also joining the cast are Nora Zehetner (Everwood), Eddie Kaye Thomas (American Pie), Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason), Daniel Spink (American Pie), Donnel Rawlings (Chappelle's Show) and Rachel Boston (American Dreams).
