The episode begins as a young girl named Kristen meets the dark and mysterious Robert in the Black Rose, a goth/emo bar. Robert tells her that he has read her poetry and that he knows her true self. Reaching for another poem from her bag, Kristen accidentally gives herself a paper-cut, and Robert storms out of the bar. Later, he returns, explaining that he tried to stay away but couldn't stop thinking about her. Robert tells her that they can never be together - he has done bad things and she should run. He reveals his fangs to her, but she protests that she is not scared. Robert promises that he won't hurt her and that he will show her his world.
