Became a father for the 1st time at age 45 when his wife Marguerite Surovy gave birth to their daughter Marisa Z. Surovy on October 7, 1989.
He met his wife, Marguerite Surovy, at a newsstand, when he was first playing "Mike Roy" on All My Children (1970) and she was a switchboard receptionist for Penthouse magazine. They and their daughter, Marisa Surovy (born in 1990), now live in California.
In 1984 he performed in "You Can't Take It With You" on Broadway, with
Jason Robards and Colleen Dewhurst, while playing Mike Roy on ABC's daytime serial
All My Children (1970), a role to which he returned in March of 1998 for six
months.
