Keshet’s secretive entertainment format 2025 finally launched last week and it turns out it’s all about money.
The series, which is running as a live daily prime-time strip on Keshet 12 four days a week, began with 16 contestants at the gates of a futuristic Westworld-meets-Truman Show-style city on the outskirts of Yavne.
You can see exclusive images from the show above and here.
Eight duels took place with viewers deciding who would enter the city and who would not; each contestant received a smart watch loaded with 12,000 Nis and immediately had to decide how much to share with their opponent – four of the eight losing contestants who received the highest amount of money from their opponents who did get in also entered the city.
Now, it seems, that the aim of the game is to keep or make as much money as possible in order to win the competition...

In a keynote appearance at Natpe, Keshet CEO Avi Nir said 2025, a new reality series that has spawned rumors in the Israeli press in recent months, will begin airing in two weeks.
Backers describe the show as a singular blend of Black Mirror, Westworld, The Truman Show and Monopoly. Earlier this month, Keshet started teasing 2025 on social media, posting and then deleting images of a restaurant, a clothing store and a bank, from the show’s set south of Tel Aviv.
Nir said the show will air four days a week, wrapping in the spring, but for the moment broadcasts are planned only in Israel. “We’ve been approached by everybody” to take the show wider, he said, but no partnerships with other networks have been set.

After more than a year of speculation in Israeli news outlets, TV broadcaster and production giant Keshet has finally confirmed the existence of its long-rumored upcoming reality show, titled “2025.” The series – which some reports describe as a mashup of “The Truman Show” and “Big Brother” – is expected to pit a varied group of contestants against each other inside an entire fake city constructed for the show.
This week, the network began to tease “2025” and promote it on social media, creating an Instagram profile for it, unveiling the new logo and publishing photos of a restaurant, a clothing store and a bank – before deleting them all. The set has been built on the outskirts of Yavneh, a city south of Tel Aviv. But with the reported premiere date just weeks away, the broadcaster is still releasing few details of “2025,” in keeping with a drawn-out campaign to boost anticipation of the show.

Israeli media firm Keshet is building a $15M Truman Show-style reality series as it searches for the next breakout non-scripted entertainment hit.
The company, which produces and distributes shows as well as runs a broadcast network in Israel, is launching 2025. A leaked trailer for the show has emerged locally and sources suggest that it is launching in the early part of next year.
It is being developed in secret by Yoram Zak, who was the director of the Israeli version of Big Brother, and Erez Tal, who hosted the Endemol Shine format. An entire ‘gold city’ is being constructed on the outskirts of Yavne, just south of Tel Aviv, with its own neighbourhood, similar to the Jim Carrey-fronted feature.
“In this place, a city will be built,” the trailer notes. “A city in which everyone starts out on equal footing. No matter where they come from, what they’ve...
