The Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (Mar 13-15), which has its 15th edition this year, has revealed its lineup of 25 projects.
Unprecedentedly, nearly half of the projects are from female directors, about a third are by first-time directors and two rarely seen genres at Haf are included - science fiction and gothic thriller.

Mira Nair-produced Three And A Half and Amitav Kaul’s Interpreter Of Maladies are among the 32 projects selected for the Co-production Market of this year’s Film Bazaar (Nov 20-24) in Goa, India.
Three And A Half will be directed by Mira Nair’s long-time collaborator Sooni Taraporewala, while Interpreter Of Maladies is based on Pultizer Prize-winner Jhumpa Lahiri’s short story.

The lineup includes 18 Indian and 14 international projects. The 13 New York Indian Film Festival will open with Feroze Abbas Khan’s political satire Dekh Tamasha Dekh and close with Nitin Kakkar’s Filmistaan. The festival will be held from April 30 – May 4, 2013.
This year the festival will screen 22 Indian features, all having their New York City premieres.
Khan’s 108 minute film Dekh Tamasha Dekh explores a country where bizarre is normal through a poor man in search for his religious identity. While Kakkar’s 117 minute film Filmistaan connects humans and cultures through cinema.
The festival will celebrate 100 years of Indian Cinema with the screenings of Rudradeep Bhattacharjee’s The Human Factor, Jaideep Varma’s Baavra Mann, Kundan Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, M S Sathyu’s Garam Hawa and Uday Shankar’s Kalpana. Whereas, Hansal Mehta’s Shahid will be presented under the Centrepiece section and Amit Gupta’s Jadoo under Special Screening.

House Hunt by Shashwati Talukdar and K for Camera by Kumud Ranjan are among the 10 projects selected for the for the inaugural Viewfinder Asia project. ViewfinderAsia project is being organised by Al Jazeera in partnership with Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Network of Documentary.
The selected film makers will attend the workshop running from 30th September – 6th October inBusan,South Korea. Here they will develop their projects for a potential broadcast on the Al Jazeera in 2013.

The talk with the filmmaker known for films like Devdas, Black and Guzaarish is titled ‘Breeze of Love from India’.

The projects are- Intimations of a Rebellion by Sanjay Kak, Inshallah, Football! by Ashvin Kumar and Please Don’t Beat Me, Sir by Shashwati Talukdar & P.
