Frank van den Eeden

Frank van den Eeden (b. 1971) is a Dutch cinematographer known for his exceptional visual storytelling and significant contributions to contemporary cinema. A member of the Belgian and Dutch Society of Cinematographers and the European Film Academy, he has built a successful career in the European film industry since earning his Master's degree in Visual Arts from Sint Lukas Filmschool in Brussels in 1999.
Van den Eeden is recognized for his collaborations with directors Lukas Dhont, Fien Troch, and Tim Mielants. His acclaimed work includes Close (2022), Girl (2018), and Home (2016), as well as Small Things Like These (2024), which opened the 2024 Berlin Film Festival. In 2014, he was honored with the Culture Award of Flanders for Film. His films have appeared at major international festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin, Toronto and Camerimage. Close won the Grand Prix at Cannes and was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, while Animals (2021) earned a Golden Frog nomination and won the FIPRESCI Award at Camerimage.
