Randal Viscovich
- Writer
- Producer
Randal Viscovich began writing, producing, directing, photographing, and editing short films when he was 11 years old. At the age of 15, he was tutored by his Palm Springs neighbor, director Howard Hawks, for almost 2 years. When Viscovich was 18, he started writing screenplays with family friends, producer/directors Dean Zanetos and John McPherson at Universal Studios. Teleplays included episodes for "The Incredible Hulk", "Voyagers!", "Simon & Simon", and "Knight Rider". After that, Viscovich teamed up with Zanetos where together they wrote 3 theatrical screenplays, then Viscovich branched off and started writing spec screenplays on his own. Two were optioned and three were sold. Viscovich is often quoted from 2 interviews he agreed to do, the first with Italian author Francesco Borseti in 2015, the second was an on-camera interview for the Blu-ray release of "Night Visitor" in 2020. Viscovich kept busy as a script supervisor and 'script doctor' on several major motion pictures.
Currently, he is developing a new feature length documentary on Legendary Filmmaker Sam Peckinpah, as well as writing his memoirs for younger film students in how to avoid the pitfalls of the business, with plenty of anecdotes on what he experienced while working in the film and television industry.
EDUCATION: S.F.S.U. and U.S.C. School of Cinema.
