The critically acclaimed grindhouse-style feminist thriller is available for pre-order at Mvd here and on Amazon.
The Ladies Of The House follows the fate of two brothers, Jacob and Kai, who, along with their friend Derek, go to a dance club to celebrate Kai’s birthday. After Derek convinces the other two to follow one of the dancers home, things take a tragic turn. However, that is simply the beginning of the nightmare for the young men, because her roommates (Getty, Lin and Crystal) aren’t just fellow dancers, they are also cannibals with a fierce sense of home and family – and a taste for men. After Kai quickly falls victim to Getty and Lin and is on his way to becoming the centerpiece of that evening’s meal,...

Over the past year I reviewed a lot of indie horror films, some of them really good, some of them just Ok, and some of them really, really bad. The following isn't exactly a best of the year list, because I haven't watched every single film that was released, played at a film festival, or completed filming this year. Rather, these are the best movies that I reviewed for MoreHorror.com in 2015, and are all movies that I can recommend without hesitation.
Mania is directed by Jessica Cameron and stars Ellie Church. Olalla is written and directed by Amy Hesketh and stars Amy Hesketh, Jac Avila, Mila Joya, and Erix Antoine. Headless is directed by Arthur Cullipher, written by Nathan Erdel, and stars Shane Beasley, Kelsey Carlisle, Dave parker and Ellie Church. Spring is directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead and written by Justin Benson,...

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of It Follows, the independent horror success story from earlier on in the year. At the same time though, I’m always on the lookout for other small films of that nature that I can champion, much like many others in the industry. Usually, I’m on board with the fright flick du jour of the moment, be it The Cabin in the Woods or You’re Next, only rarely breaking with the crowd, like in the case of last year’s The Babadook. Every so often though, I get the chance to talk about something small that might not get seen otherwise. This week, there’s a perfect example of that in John Stuart Wildman’s The Ladies of the House. Very few people know about it, but it’s the next really strong horror outing of 2015. As a quick plot summation,...

An intelligent grindhouse movie sounds like an oxymoron but that's just what The Ladies of the House plays out to be. A husband-wife team behind the film - John Stuart Wildman and Justina Walford, gives the genre a dash of feminist twist and the result is gory, tension filled ride that is also funny and touching.3 bros go to a strip club and behave badly and consequently get their comeuppances - sounds pretty formulaic but things get darker, weirder by the minute in The Ladies of the House. The men are there to celebrate a birthday of Kai (Rj Hanson), an obese, half-witted brother of studious and mild mannered Jacob (Gabriel Horn). But it's Derrick(Samrat Chakrabarti), their obnoxious friend who is the instigator and enabler...

With the end of April upon us next week, I wanted to turn our attention to May and the cinematic treats that might be held there. It’s essentially the start of the summer movie season, so there’s a slight turn that takes place in terms of what comes out. There are a few less notable indies, while the mainstream titles veer towards blockbuster status. In fact, a nice grouping of the biggest Hollywood smash hit hopefuls are hitting in May. You’ll see the ones below, clearly, but I tried to mix it up, going from tiny indie horror to massive comic book franchise sequel, with plenty in between. Enjoy! Here are ten May releases to anticipate… 10. The Ladies of the House – A small independent horror film from John Stuart Wildman and Justina Walford, it offers a welcome throwback to the days of exploitation. I feel like Russ Meyer...

Whoever designed the new poster for the upcoming film The Ladies of the House should be given the job of designing every movie poster... ever. We've got it right here for you to soak in as well as info on upcoming screenings.
The Ladies of the House will be making its world premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival on April 4-5 and then screen immediately afterward at the Sarasota Film Festival on April 7-8.
The film was directed by John Stuart Wildman, who co-wrote the picture with Justina Walford. It stars Farah White (Ex-Terminators, Daylight's End), Melodie Sisk (White Reindeer, Summer of Blood), Brina Palencia ("The Walking Dead," "Star-Crossed"), adult film star Michelle "Belladonna" Sinclair, Samrat Chakrabarti (The Waiting City, "Damages"), Gabriel Horn ("Ghostbreakers", Carried Away) and Rj Hanson.
And in spite of the bit of playfulness in the opening paragraph, we do actually know who created the lovely poster below.

The Butcher Brother’s latest feature, The Violent Kind, was one of Sundance’s most anticipated films for horror fans and now the film’s producer, Jeffrey Allard, is ready to work on a new indie feature, Stripped. Allard will be teaming up with producer Adam Donaghey for what is being described as a “post-feminist horror film.” Stripped is being written by Justina Walford and John Wildman. This marks Wildman’s first time in the director’s chair, after recently giving up his position as Head of Press and Public Relations at AFI. Allard has confirmed that scream queen hottie, Tiffany Shepis (Night of the Demons [...]

Ex-afi Fest artistic director Rose Kuo (who is covering Sundance with screenwriter husband Larry Gross for Movie City News) has been named co-executive director of the Santa Fe Film Festival with Michael Hare.
In addition, she and her former AFI partners have also created a unique film festival consultancy, Festworks, which will provide consultation and services for film festival operations, development, programming and communications. Rose Kuo, festival producer David Rogers, head of press and public relations John Wildman and the festival’s director of programming Robert Koehler will have less hands-on responsibility for running their own festival in this new venture which will allow festivals to profit from their long experience.
Never before has such an endeavor been made available to festivals, although the International Film Festival Summit is also instituting a festival training course.

While our Sundance home page is the place for all our coverage from Park City, here is a brief rundown of what's been going on during the last 24 hours, including an interview with "Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil" star Alan Tudyk, new photo galleries for "Hesher" and "Howl," and reviews of "The Company Men," "Hesher," "Winter's Bone," and "Four Lions."
Said to be close to a sale, Bilge Ebiri expects "The Company Men" to be coming to a theater near you after Sundance. Here's an excerpt from his review, which can be found in full here:
While a variety of films from "Up in the Air" to "The International" have found an icy beauty in the clean lines and empty spaces of modern corporate life, there's a strange, quiet pall cast over the blank offices and boardrooms that make up the landscape of "The Company Men." That antiseptic aesthetic reaches into...
